sorry peggy ur old news I'M KIDDING PLEASE DON'T READ THIS. But indeed, he spots the tourist and waves joyfully at her; he'd been keeping his eye on her from afar, trying to make sure she was doing alright per Kara's request — and of course, his own personal concern for her emotional wellbeing — and now he's more than happy to spend time with her here.]Miss Pryde, hello! Welcome to The Melting Pot!
I hope it suffices, I'm afraid I was on a limited budget.

[ -- foregoing any sensible greeting, peggy snags the man by his elbow when he bustles his way past her booth. for a moment, just a moment, she feels almost transported back to the l&l. but the l&l's menu never boasted her name. nor, indeed, fondue. bloody hell. ]
Have a seat. [ peggy gestures at the bench across from her. she does, of course, have tea at her elbow. that much is certainly appreciated. whatever its name. ] Whatever you're rushing off to can wait a little bit longer.
[ it's jarvis and peggy time now. ]

This certainly feels a bit off from our usual seating arrangement.
[It's lovely to see you, friend, is what that means.]

Ah, it all sounds so good...!
[Or, you're part of the poor unfortunate staff, who gets to deal with this amount of work. When someone comes to take his order, he has a big excited smile as he exclaims.]
Hello! I'll have one of every dinner special please! Oh, and can I get a full pizza instead of a slice for the Winn's Winning Pizza?
And a Carter's tea to drink. Thank you!

Looks him up and down in Judgment(TM) and Confusion(TM), with his notepad tucked under his arm.]

With that done, he'd taken it upon himself to wander the ship a bit more, and finally ended up at Jarvis' restaurant. He remembered the network broadcast about it a little while back, and was curious. Even simulated Earth food had be better than just gels and some weird solid things, so he walked in to give it a try.]

So this is what Khadgar meant by businesses... [She picks up a menu, casting an eye over it.] I hardly know where to start.
[She would welcome some suggestions.]

For Jarvis
Of course, the clearly well-thought-out nature of things aside, there's a touch of awkwardness Rip can't help but feel as he steps further into the restaurant. He's not there to sample the menu (although he's already decided he clearly will be, at some point). Rather, Rip's shown up for a cooking lesson of all things. It's perhaps the truest step he's taken towards acknowledging his so-called position within the fleet, and one that's unavoidable now that Peggy's recruited him to her own ship.
Yet that doesn't mean the notion has settled comfortably down within Rip's thoughts. It likely never will, not fully. Not when it's based on some blasted mechanic installed at the back of his head.
Still. Here he is, and when he catches Jarvis' eye at some point while the man moves about, he'll raise a hand in greeting. Rip's the one who is being accommodated; seems only proper to wait until the man has a spare moment for him before they chat.]

Mr. Hunter, a pleasure! Have you decided to begin some cooking lessons today?

They don't serve that weird gel stuff here? Hmm... hey they don't, you're right! It's all real food! [He skims down and pauses.]

Well, I'd hazard to say you might be taking home a doggy bag, but don't let that stop you.
[Then again, Arthur had raised a boy who probably could have wolfed down one of everything and have room for a second round of dessert. He tipped his head to the side.]
Perhaps start with a few favorites and see how you feel then? Wouldn't want a second course to get cold before you got to it.

OTA - Be glad he's waiting and not cooking
Arthur didn't exactly have the usual first job fast food diner experience, but this wasn't the first time he'd waited tables. The Brit was all smiles as he went about collecting orders and bringing around the meals once they were ready. Hosting, after all, was a skill he was particularly proud of.
"Are we ready to order, or would you like a few minutes more? Perhaps I could offer some suggestions if you'd like?"
Tea Break
Lords, he'd forgotten how tiring this was. Arthur slipped back to the wait station for his break, cradling a cup of tea in his hands to sip slowly.
"Still, not a bad way to spend an afternoon," he murmured to himself, or perhaps to anyone nearby.
no subject
He's got his own cup prepared, sitting carefully on a saucer, and offers Arthur a smile.
"You've done excellently today, Mr. Kirkland; I'm quite content with my company."
Pfft, only tea icon I have until I up his account back to paid.
needs more tea, mr. kirkland!!!
Soon!
