I admit I am very partial to lychee.

[ She doesn't answer the next question just yet. He's too busy deliberating the first. ]

But papaya and dragonfruit are also very good. It's hard to pick just one.

I never thought I'd see two people mention papaya.

You sound like a man who's experienced a lot.

Is it hard to come by, where you are from?

[ He chuckles ]

Well, it is difficult to live to my age and have experienced nothing.

Not particularly. Just not my thing.

You'd be surprised.

[he's 96 and there's so much he hasn't seen, not that he knows just how old he is.]

Have you had it fresh? It's no good if it isn't fresh.

It seems I am constantly surprised these days. I was never expecting to sail among the stars.

[proudlywehailed]

I can't say I have. Maybe we should find some.

Not very close to space travel in your world?

I hope we could, I am really starting to crave some now.

[ ... Was that a rumbly stomach ... ? ]

I would have never imagined it possible. I have learned quite a bit since I arrived here.

Fresh food doesn't seem to be in abundance on our ships, that's for sure. We'll have to make the best of what we can find.

I have to say, I'm learning a lot, too. I never really thought about other worlds.

voice;

I can't complain about not starving. But I do miss the food markets.

[ He speaks fondly when he recalls this next bit. ]

There are two worlds known where I am from. The "human" world, and the Spirit World. But it is nothing like this, nor can people usually travel so freely between them.

Food markets... Don't think I've ever been to one.

I don't think I'd bother anything called a "Spirit World" even if I could.

voice;

It is the best way to get your food. Each seller is dedicated to their specialties, and so the selection is that much better.

[ That gets a chuckle ]

Well, the goal is not to "bother" it, but to respect it. Many of those spirits play a large role in the way our world functions.

Then I think I need to find one of those markets. Maybe you can show me what to look for in the produce if we come across one.

Being respectful is something I can get behind. Forces of nature aren't to be trifled with.
