Pretty much. Our most beloved hero is a superpowered alien who's more of a boy scout than actual Boy Scouts.

Of course, if he was even a little bit morally ambiguous, the global reception wouldn't be nearly so friendly. So it's a good thing for all concerned that he's the kind of guy who swoops in to help during natural disasters and rescues cats from trees when he's not punching less-friendly aliens in the face.

...Do they have New Jersey where you're from? United States? You sound American, but for all I know that's just some freak coincidence.

Yeah, I'm from New York. We don't like New Jersey much.

So sorry my home state offends. [ He lets his childhood accent -- North Jersey via the Bowery -- creep into his voice just a little. His next sentence, though, is back to his usual Generic American. ]

Weird, though, that you have New Jersey but don't have Gotham. Where I'm from, it's like New York City's evil twin: meaner and more corrupt, and that's after over fifteen years of its own personal vigilante working with the cops to clean it up, but it's home. Hell, we've even got Lady Liberty's sister in Gotham Harbor.

Yeah, that sounds like something I might know about if it existed in my world.

[his tone is very joking]

So, Jersey. [yeah he might be nicknaming you this now]

You know any of these "heroes" personally?

[ Jason considers protesting, but he's had worse nicknames. Besides, this guy's stuck just going by "Commander". In his place, Jason would be handing out nicknames like candy, too. ]

A few. Got adopted by the local vigilante when I was a kid. I picked up a few things, met some of the people he worked with.

[ He's not going to lie outright if he doesn't have to, but he's not going to spill the Robin story quite that easily. Not to someone like the Commander. Granted, he seems a decent guy when he's not sending up red flags, but Jason's not sure just how much to trust, given the warning signs he's seen so far. ]

Just thought it'd be good information to have. Good to know who I can call on if there's a scuffle.

I haven't had any trouble finding sparring partners, for whatever that's worth, but it's always good to know who can handle themselves.

Really? I guess I haven't gotten out enough to find good partners. Maybe it's time to come out of my shell a little.
