Yeah! I'm still getting there-- the others can do way more than I can-- but I'm pretty strong!

[Wait no Steven don'-- ohhh, he's flexing. Look at those pudgy arms!]

And I can do magic and junk.

[the voice feed returns a fond little chuckle.]

You look like you could use some training. What kind of magic can you do?

Shield magic, mostly! And I'm learning fire magic too, now. But I'm not really good at the physical stuff-- I gotta get buff, too.

[proudlywehailed]

... Shield, huh? What a coincidence. Shields are my specialty.

Maybe I'll set up a physical training program.

Really? Can you teach me to use it better? How do you use it? What kind of shield do you have? When can we start on training?

[proudlywehailed]

I had a big round one, and I used it for everything from protecting myself from bullets, to disarming enemies, knocking people out, breaking locks... A shield is versatile.

Give me a week or two to get my bearings. I've got a little interest generated in this now.

[realhumanbeing]

[He looks incredibly excited, eyes wide and hands pressed to his mouth.]

I've never even met anyone who uses a shield before. This is awesome!

It's something you should take pride in. Trust me. If I can find something like my shield again, I'll show you.

I bet they sell them on the planet! I got a ton of different stuff there, you could probably find a pretty okay one til you get yours back.

Huh. We'll have to see. I'm sure somebody to make one if I can't find one.

Just... Commander.

[You have to be a Commander of something, bub, but Steven isn't going to argue. He just shrugs.]

Okay! Hey, what's your favorite flavor?

Apple.

Something about it just feels right.
