[It was just a simple message, asking what he was doing, making sure he hadn't fallen asleep again. But she couldn't find him. Like he hadn't ever been there, his name was gone from the list.

Kairi quickly types in Sora's number, hoping maybe it was just a hiccup. She tried sending the message, but nothing. It couldn't find it. She frantically keeps hitting send, willing it to work, to send it to him. She did everything she could think of to try and fix it, in hopes that she was doing something wrong or the device was broken or there was interference or anything but what the cold dread in her stomach told her.

When her options were exhausted, and her panic turned into sadness, she then finally began to cry. He was gone, wasn't he? There was a chance she was wrong, but something in her told her she wasn't wrong. But she had to try, to ask, just in case. So she stubbornly wiped away her tears and opened a new post to address the network.]

So, um. If a person is gone from - if you can't find them on your communicator...

[This is harder than she expected. She has to fight to keep her voice steady. This is not only the first time someone she's known here that has been sent back, it's one of her best friends.]

Unless something isn't working? Is... anyone else's communicator not showing names? It could be that, right?

[But she doesn't believe it. Her voice cracks at the end, and she quickly ends the feed before she starts crying again.]

[The wording, the expression... Kairi catches them, and she wonders. If it's what she thinks it is, her heart aches for Wanda.]

I'm sorry, too. I know I'll see him again, so I have that at least. I know everyone isn't so lucky. [She'll leave that at that, and let Wanda interpret as she will.]

Oh, it was nothing. A lot of people helped me when I first arrived. It's only right to pass it on to those who've come after me. Have you settled in all right?

[Wanda smiles weakly. Sweet girl, to be going through so much sorrow and yet still worried about others.]

I have been settling in fine. The initial shock has largely subsided. Thank you for asking.

[She pauses briefly. A bit awkward, as she is not 100% sure how to proceed? Bringing up Kairi's lost friend again, even if intending to be comforting surely seemed like a mistake.]

Good. Once we make planetfall it's always a bit nicer. You're not stuck on the ship and you can see a new world. Hopefully the next one we go to isn't a hostile forest.

[Wanda seems to be nervous, and Kairi tries to smile reassuringly.]

Thank you, I will. I think I'll probably have another good cry soon and see my friend. It's going to be hard the next few days, but I know it'll pass.

[A small smile returns to Wanda's face as she looks at Kairi. A discernible quality of respect in her eyes.]

I... thank you. [She smiles softly. To be honest, she doesn't feel all that strong at the moment, given her breakdown, so it's nice to hear it.] I think everyone here is. We have to be. It's... well, anyone who isn't wouldn't do well here.
