[ It's not exactly the worst O'danya has ever been called. She was just a little put off at the initial assumption. ]

Scifai? [ That sounds like some kind of forbidden spell, tbh. ] Ah, but of course. We may as well start where you started on the bridge and work from there.

Science fiction. It's like... stories about future-y things like this? Way more advanced than what we really had.

The bridge means this is the important part of the ship?

I see. That is rather appropriate to our situation. [ And something she's going to tuck away for later. This isn't quite future-y, just larger in scope than anything she's seen from the Garleans or Allagan relics. ]

It is like the bridge on any other ship. Where navigation happens and orders are issued. Do you know what station you are?

[She turns lightly red at that, looking away.]

... Cook...

[ That makes her brighten. She isn't oblivious to Nightingale's reaction, but there's no reason to poke at it. ]

Oh, but a cook is exactly what we need! I've done what I can here as a culinarian myself, but there simply isn't very much I'm familiar with here.

It's a stupid position, I was good at that before I got an augment here. I could have been fine as a cook and gotten something like piloting the damn ship or something useful.

[she's grumbling, but she actually seems to perk up a bit at hearing it's needed.]

At least I can do that much for...

[There's a small pause. So far, the only shipmates she's met are O'Danya and Mal, and Mal is a vampire...]

... Are we really the only ones on the ship who eat?

[ Such a weird question, and one she doesn't understand besides. Where did she get that impression? ]

Of course not. What gave you such an idea?

So far, I've only met you and... um, vampire captain, on this ship. And she doesn't eat, so...

[ Her head tilts in understanding suddenly, and she begins moving back toward the bridge area. ]

Luckily for you, we are not only a crew of three. You'll meet the others soon enough. Beyond that, I doubt anyone else you might make friends with would say no to a well-cooked meal, either.

That's a relief... But I can't exactly cook for people from a different ship. Is it common to visit others?

[She follows along obediently, not really sure why they're backtracking, but hey, the experienced one is doing it, so.]

[ She wants the tour to be given right, of course. Better to learn the important things and move out from those points. ]

Most definitely. Each ship has smaller shuttles used to visit either waystations or each other. We are not as isolated as our surroundings make us appear.

... So that's the same, too... I thought we were a lot more isolated, since we aren't directly competing, but it doesn't seem like that's the case.
