Re: elena gilbert | ota
He was opening cupboards, frowning as he rummaged trying to find tea packets, a drink he had come to enjoy since his time in the castle. Coffee too. He looked over when he heard Elena enter, nodding hello. ]
Good morning. You don't happen to know where the tea packets moved to, do you?
no subject
Sorry, no. I try to stay out of the kitchen as much as possible.
[She unfortunately inherited her mother's knack for being 100% inept when it comes to all things food-related. She can eat the stuff, but she sure as hell has no idea what she's doing when it comes to cooking or preparing any of it.]
Have you tried looking in the pantry?
no subject
Hmm, no, though I thought the tea was always kept in the cupboard. Makes me wish for the Castle, almost, I could simply wish a packet up...
[ He turned and sidled along until he got to said pantry and opened up the door. ]
Have we met properly? I'm Vanyel Ashkevron, your new security crew member.

Elena Gilbert. I work in the lab. You were in a castle?
no subject
Ah yes. It was called Cair Paradisa.
[ He glanced at her and smiled a bit as he continued to rummage for the tea. ]
I was there with Felix Harrowgate, as it happened.

If the days run the same as they do here, a little over three years. Was not quite on my fourth when the Castle sent us all home. Or tried to, at least.

By my count - about four months now. Three or four. I admit I have learned not to count really. It just makes it all seemed very drawn out if you do.

[She realizes that she's asking a lot of questions right now, but she's also incredibly curious.]
no subject
[ He doesn't mind. He's used to it - laughs actually. ]
A bit more roomy, actually, and we could wish for anything we needed. No having to rummage around in a pantry. But all the people from different worlds? Yes, it was very much like that.

Oh yes. It was quite full at one point and then slowly it began to fade and eventually there were only a few dozen of us. And then, one day, it... Let us go.
no subject
[She smiles, a little wry.]

I think it might, at least, for awhile yet. I was there for a number of years, and it had been standing for far longer before I arrived.
How long have you been with the Fleet, Miss Elena?
no subject
Not very long. Only about two months. It's the only place I've been though aside from home.
no subject
You shall have quite a few stories then whenever you do return home. Assuming you remember, of course.
no subject
Do people not remember when they go back?
no subject
Well, in Paradisa, sometimes they would go home and they would come back and remember and sometimes they would not. Our general theory was that they did not, and I would think it might be the same here.

Paradisa was... all reaching, and I honestly believe nearly all powerful. I would not think myself far reaching in saying that Atroma is very nearly the same.

I cannot say I like it, but I can say that I am rather used to it. I do not know which disturbs me more.
But I do know that whatever happens, those of us on this ship shall look out for each other. So never fear, Miss Elena.
no subject
That's good to hear. The crew around here seems to be constantly changing. I'm hoping you'll stick around longer than just exchanging names.
no subject
As do I, Miss Elena. I know it seems a strange wish, but it is the thing that happens when you find you like the people around you.
