dancingmd: (why aren't we all being interrogated?)

(no subject)

Who: Beverly Crusher and you!!!
Broadcast: Nope
Action: Nominally beach but really anywhere! Feel free to tag her with a place of your choice!
When: July 26th until the end of the glitchiness

[Beverly woke up this morning feeling strangely... invigorated. Looser, more carefree, and dare she say it? Happier than she's felt in months, ever since she first arrived on the Marsiva. To celebrate, she decided to head for the beach.

Which is where you'll find her now, lounging on a towel and reading a book that looks suspiciously similar to the ah... literature Dorian was so kind as to read out loud to the network a while back. At the very least, there's a ridiculous picture of a shirtless burly man in a plaid kilt on the front cover. As for her, well, she's wearing a very stylish green bathing suit and a big white sunhat, thoughtfully provided by a fan (who has thankfully saved you all from seeing her in some 1980s sparkly gold monstrosity instead). No doubt if you approach her, she'll flash a blinding smile your way and cheerfully engage you in conversation. Or better yet, some fun activities! Right now, she's up for almost anything!]

Is it? I mean...

[For a moment, Aveline is silent, just sort of staring, because that's not the response she expected.]

Wesley was my first husband.

[She gives a sigh. It's never an easy thing to think about, and there's something really just kind of... embarrassing about Beverly's sympathy, but... she squeezes her hand back, all the same.]

I'm sorry too, then.
coppermarigolds: (that makes no sense)

[personal profile] coppermarigolds 2015-07-30 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Not... really.

[She admits this almost reluctantly.]

I've never done any swimming in the ocean. In a pond when I was a child, but that's... different.
coppermarigolds: (get it out of your system)

[personal profile] coppermarigolds 2015-07-31 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[Aveline gives her a long and slightly sceptical look. Really?]

Well. I suppose it wouldn't hurt.

[Fiiiiiiiiine.]

Fun. All right. I don't think I've gone swimming for fun since I was a child. And that was a pond, not the sea.
coppermarigolds: (that makes no sense)

[personal profile] coppermarigolds 2015-08-06 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
[All right, she's up, and she's looking dubiously at the water.]

There isn't anything in the water we need to worry about, is there? Some sort of... sea dragon or other monster?
coppermarigolds: (I can help you know)

[personal profile] coppermarigolds 2015-08-15 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Well. If you say so.

[Thedas is different, after all, in this respect. Aveline brushes herself off and squints out at the sea for a moment. Presumably it wouldn't be an accepted thing if there was much of a risk. She starts off marching towards the water without another word.]

[She wades in with her face scrunched up in preparation for icy water -- but it's not nearly as cold as she expects it. Well.]

I thought it would be colder.

[Warm climate, warm water. That... makes sense. Still, she looks down at her toes in the sand, feeling slightly unnerved about this whole swimming-in-the-ocean thing.]
coppermarigolds: (to change their minds)

[personal profile] coppermarigolds 2015-08-21 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm fine.

[And she is. Really.]

The Ferelden coast is too cold to swim in. Kirkwall's not much better. This is just... strange.
coppermarigolds: (that's okay)

[personal profile] coppermarigolds 2015-08-24 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
That does sound... rather nice, actually.

[The waves. Yes. Waves are a concern. Still, she dips down in the water, starting to warm up to this whole thing. This is nice.]

The shore near Kirkwall is called the Wounded Coast. It's a deadly stretch of coastline for any sailor that doesn't know what they're doing, bandits, Tal-Vashoth, and giant spiders aside. No one goes there for fun.

[personal profile] coppermarigolds 2015-08-24 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Qunari who have left the Qun, really. Some of them live as bandits.

[She pauses; if Beverly doesn't know what a Tal-Vashoth is, then 'qunari' is probably also an unknown.]

The qunari are a race of people, and the Qun is their... religion, philosophy, whatever you want to call it. They're tall, muscular, horned people, with greyish skin.

[She grimaces a little.]

The Chantry doesn't like them much, I'm sure you can imagine.
coppermarigolds: (you insult me like I'm family)

[personal profile] coppermarigolds 2015-08-25 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[She shakes her head.]

But there's plenty I don't see eye to eye with the Chantry on.
coppermarigolds: (that makes no sense)

[She shakes her head.]

I know there's mages who aren't in the circle who are no danger to anyone -- Hawke included. I think they have easy answers for things that aren't so easy. Wesley was a templar, and I know it gave him comfort. It gives a lot of people comfort. I don't... the chant is lovely, but I don't find it compelling.

[Aveline shrugs, rather distracted.]
