[Beverly woke up this morning feeling strangely... invigorated. Looser, more carefree, and dare she say it? Happier than she's felt in months, ever since she first arrived on the Marsiva. To celebrate, she decided to head for the beach.

Which is where you'll find her now, lounging on a towel and reading a book that looks suspiciously similar to the ah... literature Dorian was so kind as to read out loud to the network a while back. At the very least, there's a ridiculous picture of a shirtless burly man in a plaid kilt on the front cover. As for her, well, she's wearing a very stylish green bathing suit and a big white sunhat, thoughtfully provided by a fan (who has thankfully saved you all from seeing her in some 1980s sparkly gold monstrosity instead). No doubt if you approach her, she'll flash a blinding smile your way and cheerfully engage you in conversation. Or better yet, some fun activities! Right now, she's up for almost anything!]

[Wanda gives a small sigh of relief. Dr. Crusher had seemed so serious a moment ago. Wanda didn't have to worry about her abilities and her parents' reaction to them, so she wasn't sure what Beverly's reaction represented.]

Innately... I see. That is interesting. There are few back home who can claim to have innately possessed their abilities.

[And technically, one of them wasn't even from Earth.]

[She's pretty incapable of getting too upset or serious right now, thanks to the glitch.]

Oh, it's not very common, not among humans anyway, but we wouldn't be the first species to evolve in that direction, so while it was surprising when we found out, it's not unprecedented.

[Who knows why it took her this long to ask this question, but nonetheless Wanda finally thinks to ask it.]

Where are you from exactly Dr. Crusher?

[A little chuckle.]

That depends on what you mean. My ancestors are from Earth - Scotland, to be exact. But I was born on the moon and grew up on several different planets, only living on Earth while I was in med school. Ever since then, I've lived on Starships, serving as a member of Starfleet.

[Well, that suddenly was a lot all at once. Again, Wanda's been trying to not let herself be so surprised by the backgrounds of different Fleet members she met, but it was likely due to her preconception that Dr. Crusher and her were from a similar home world. In this case, it was more of the time, rather than the place that was surprising.]

You were born on the moon? What year is it where you are from?

It's the year 2370.

[By the traditional Western Earth calendar at least. Let's not get into Stardates yet.]

[Wanda had gotten used to being the one apparently from the future, but in those cases it had been two or three years at most. It seemed Dr. Crusher had her beat by a large margin.]

2370? I- I do not- [A slight pause as Wanda tries to think of something to say.] Wow...

[Just wait until she meets Daneel.]

What year is it for you?

2015.

[Wanda only manages to get out the year. She's still a little too dazed, caught up in her pondering over the implications of this little reveal. Her mind formulating all sorts of ideas and questions.]

They have an awful lot of people here from the turn of the millennium. I wonder why that is.

[She is used to getting the look Wanda is giving her by now, so she will just patiently wait.]

[There are many questions Wanda has, but the one that comes out first is:]

Earth, people still... live... there?

Oh, of course! I myself don't, but many of my friends do. Or at least were born there.

[Wanda lets out a small sigh, clearly she had been worried that something may have happened to the Earth in the future.]

That is a relief.

So then your son... his powers are uncommon? Even in this future?

[Well... considering that Wanda should be in the midst of WWIII in Beverly's timeline, nothing is guarenteed about the future.]

Among humans, yes. Other species have similar abilities, but they are mostly non-corporeal beings.

[Wanda felt she already knew the answer to this question, but she wanted to ask it anyways, just to be sure.]

What about the Avengers? What happened to them?

The Avengers? Who are they?

[Dr. Crusher's uncertainly was basically all the answer Wanda needed. It seemed unlikely that, even so far in the future, there would not be some sort of historical reference to the Avengers and their formation or dissipation. Though, there was one other question Wanda could ask to make sure.]

I do not mean to sound rude when I ask this, but... how knowledgeable on history, Earth's history, are you?

I'm no historian, but every Starfleet officer is expected to have a well-rounded education, so I know a decent amount of history.

[Then she gives Wanda a knowing half-smile.]

If you're trying to figure out if we're from the same timeline, there's one simple question to answer that: does the name Khan Noonien Singh mean anything to you?

[Wanda gives a small smile in response. Clearly Dr. Crusher was ahead of her, and knew what Wanda was already getting at.]

No. No, it does not.

[Wanda lets out a sigh that sounds like... relief? Or is it disappointment? Bit of both?]

When you mentioned your son's abilities, I guess I thought... well, I suppose it does not matter now.

No, what is it? Is something wrong?

[Concerned mama over here.]

[Wanda shakes her head, trying to reassure Dr. Crusher that it's nothing. At least, it's not something she wants to burden Dr. Crusher with at the moment.]

Really, there is no need to worry. You do sound really proud of your son. He is lucky to have you as a mother.

[Normally, she probably wouldn't accept that reassurance, but the augment is on your side today Wanda.]

And I'm lucky to have him as a son.

[Wanda nods her head in affirmation, her keeping its warmth. She turns her head to look out over the crystal blue waters. Their extended conversation had given her enough time to dry off, and she was feeling ready to go for another dip in the ocean.]

Up for a swim?

Oh, that sounds like fun, yes!

[In less than a second, she's on her feet and already heading towards the water. Better hurry if you want to catch up!]

[Wanda's eyes go wide with surprise. Dr. Crusher's sudden burst of energy clearly catching her a little off-guard. However, the shock passes quickly, as Wanda's grin spreads into a wide smile. She quickly chases after Dr. Crusher, crashing after her into the surf.]
