The Bridge

[Come say hi to your fearless pilot! Furiosa will be busy familiarizing herself with the controls, as well as how to hotwire them so the ship doesn't go anywhere without her behind the helm. Just, a little bit of insurance.]

Engineering/Around

[When she needs a beak from breaking the bridge, she'll be scoping out the engineering level and swiping tools and materials. Anything that looks like it could be cobbled together into something is open to consideration; wrenches, hydraulic tubing, discarded motor housings, whatever. Care to find out what she plans on building?]

[Yuya's sitting quietly around the engineering storage area studying a bunch of cards when Furiosa comes in and grabs something - a wrench, it looks like. Thinking that he might be needed (or rather, his engineering augment will be), Yuya stands up and without thinking calls after her.]

Hey! Do you need--

[But as he gets a better look Furiosa clearly looks like she knows what she's doing, whereas Yuya isn't so confident about that. He falters.]

...help?

[Wrench. Perfect. She snags it as she sees it and it almost headed out when she hears the voice, stopping abruptly and pivoting back. She let's Yuya finish his thought before answering.]

I got it.

[She almost turns to leave, but hesitates. If this guy was an engineer, he might know where she can get some more materials.] Actually, maybe you can.

[She turns back around and waves the wrench about to indicate the space around them.] Any unwanted scraps or materials lying about?

[He's not really sure what constitutes as unwanted, but it can't hurt to show her what they have to use in general. He puts the cards away into a device that he pockets and walks around the room, looking at what they've got.]

I don't know about anything we're working on anything right now...you can just take whatever you need, I guess. What are you trying to do?

Make an arm. [She answers easily enough, giving the nub of her left hand a little wave. She's able to deal well enough without it, but if she's got the materials she might as well rig something up.

To that end she starts picking through some of the detritus anything that looks promising. She might have to find something to carry it all in,but a little piece here or there she can tuck under her arm. She glances over at the guy as she's making her collection.]

So. You're the engineer here? You got much experience with this kind of thing?

[Her arm--oh. Yeah, that would make sense. Yuya falls silent, watching Furiosa sort through everything and letting her do as she will until she starts talking to him again.]

Me? Not really. I've been one of the ship's engineers for a couple months now, but before that most I ever did was help out the principal when the machines at You Show broke down. And actually, my friend Yuzu did more of that...

Well, no better experience than throwing yourself into it - [Adapt or die mentality.] - but if you need any help, I know my way around a rig.

[Okay, no, not a spaceship really, but she comes from a culture that lives and breathes vehicles, that feels machines.]

All right. I guess to start with...have you seen any problems with the ship? I've been--[asleep? dreaming? something?]--out for a while before now.

I haven't had a chance to see it in action yet. [So hard to tell how it runs when it's sleeping.]

In action? You mean...you haven't seen it fly yet?

I'm new. [That new.]

I knew that! You weren't here before I - never mind. But you haven't even moved the ship yet?

There hasn't been need. [Do they need to do a supply run? Repairs? She's been focused on learning its board and wiring before she took it out for a spin and working at on her arm.]

[It's been a while since Bobbin has actually been on the ship. When there's an entirely new land to explore, why not explore it, he figures. But he's back now, due to no other choice, really, and having a wander about the ship. Seeing if anything's changed, as it seems to be oddly prone to that.

It's while doing this he comes across Furiosa, who looks very intent about whatever it is she's doing. There's something about her bearing makes him think of an Elder, or a First. So he hovers around her for a bit, gangling in his robe, doing his best to follow but stay out of her way.]

Are you smithing something?

[She looks back at her new little shadow, raising a brow, but ultimately doesn't bother him as she goes about collecting items and depositing them in the galley where she'll try to assemble it. She finds him odd, all covered up like that, but he's unobtrusive.]

Something like that. [It wasn't blacksmithing exactly but it was close.]
