[ The video turns on, and she's got her chin in her palm. She blows a little at her bangs, making them fly up for a moment before she speaks ]

I've seriously been slacking lately ... so, anyone wanna spar? I know it's kinda late at night, but I could super use the practice.

[ Hey, not all elves have pointy ears!! They must be rounded somewhere. ]

[ She sighs. ]

Yeah, that's because there was this weird curse on me the last place I was at. I'll be twenty-four in September.

[ Her brows go up, and she whistles. ]

Damn. That's some kind of bullshit. Getting into bars is going to suck, huh?

One of the many really annoying things about it. Makeup helps, but that's kinda in short supply in space.

[ She sighs ]

Anyways, I was going to ask you, since Clay didn't know -- do you have a boyfriend?

Tell me about it.

[ There's a gesture to her own scarred face. She knows the pain, girl.

That question gets something of a surprised and confused laugh from Misha, and she shakes her head no. ]

Uhhh, no? No, I don't. Kind of hard to bring someone like that with you when you've been kidnapped through dimensions, anyway.

I've got a little bit stashed from a moon we stopped at awhile back, but I try to save it for dates and stuff like that ...

[ And ... Oh, good. One more for the list. ]

Well, yeah, but -- no one at home or anything?

Hey, that's pretty lucky. I'm gonna have to start saving up stashes myself soon...

[ Her head tilts in curiosity. ]

Nope. Why are you asking? If you've already got someone to go out on dates with and all.

It's kinda the only way to make sure you've got the basic necessities, around here. --Oh, they do make a really nice face mask here with the algae, though. I keep meaning to grab some.

[ She laughs ]

A friend of mine is -- well, I'm trying to get him back into dating. He doesn't really seem to think anyone would be interested in him, and like I said, the number of people around our age is pretty small, so I've been trying to figure out who would even be available.

Maybe we should stop by there after all this. If you don't mind making it into a 'we', that is.

Oh, is that all? Setting up a friend? [ She laughs, shrugs partway. ] I've never really dated anyone before, so I don't know if I'd actually count as available.

'Course not! I could totally use a girl to go shopping with. My boyfriend just kinda stares and shrugs at everything.

[ That's an exaggeration, but Tadashi doesn't really know much about the makeup and such... ]

Well, are you interested in dating someone? I mean, just like, a date. If you don't like it you don't have to do it again.

Ha! In that case, I'd love to go with you. Give you someone to appreciate good product with.

[ Misha isn't super into makeup either, but at least she knows how the basics work. Figuring out the fancy stuff from there isn't hard at all. ]

Hey, why not? What's one more new experience on top of everything else?

Sounds perfect!

[ She grins ]

I like your attitude, Misha! Okay, I'll let you know when I can set something up with him. I think you'll like him, he's really nice, and brave, and strong. Oh, and he really likes food.

All good qualities. Add funny or smart to that and we've got a deal. [ Her eyes twinkle when she adds: ] Although I hope his ship is better equipped to make food than mine is. All we've got is two types of protein, which is... an adventure to say the least.

If that was all he had to eat I think he would have wasted away a long time ago. [ She laughs ] Don't worry, they have a cook and all kinds of stuff in the pantry.

Then I don't see any problems with it. What's his name?

His name's Allen ... maybe you guys have met? He's got white hair, a scar over his eye -- [ She makes a gesture on her own face to imitate what his scar looks like] -- like that.

Oh, right! The blood donation guy.

[ Yep. That's how she knows him. ]

At least I know my own scars won't put him off. He seemed pretty cool.

[ She laughs a little ]

Yeah, he does the blood drive. He's been learning how to be a medic for awhile now, actually! He used to work under a doctor a few years ago.

That's pretty cool. And insanely practical, actually. The blood drive.

[ She sounds very impressed by this. Practicality yespls. ]

And you say he's our age? Huh. [ There's a slight smile there. Yeah, okay, she can see it. ]

Yeah, he's a little older than I am. He looks young like me, but we were both under the same curse thing for awhile there.

[ Though Allen's got the white hair that kinda helps age him a bit ... ]

I've known him for almost a decade, he's like ... my best friend, pretty much. He's really cool, just a little shy around girls at first.

Through thick and thin, huh? [ It sounds pretty awful, but Misha is no stranger to the sort of awful that sets your whole life off track through an act of universally random chance. ]

Oh, shy. I'll try to keep that one in mind.

[ She won't get into the laundry list of awful castle things that happened to them: it's not really important here, anyways ]

Yeah, I mean ... he can totally hold a conversation, it's just like -- he's kinda from that type of place where you have to be a total gentleman to a lady and stuff, so it takes him awhile to relax and be himself.

[ Good idea. Even Misha's brain would have a hard time processing the pure insanity of Paradisa. ]

Eh, that should be fine. I mean, as long as I don't have to be ladylike in return.

Nah, it's not like that at all. I mean, he's friends with me and all. I think he just doesn't know how to break the habit of being really polite all the time to people he doesn't know well.

Thus the shyness. [ She grins. ] Man, now I'm kind of excited.
