[Stefan promised Allen that he would scout the Iskaulit for potential locations for an interfaith space. The formal name would come later, should he think up something catchier... While he's poking around the entire ship, he finally settles upon a moderately-sized room (with a few springline windows on one side and a wooden floor) towards the back of the ship.

He'll be in the room for a while, trying to guess measurements and sketch ideas for how this space could best work. Around the time he settles in, he switches the feed on:]

There's a lot of great stuff happening right now - makes this feel more like a community. Which is kind of why I'm wondering, would anyone else be interested in an interfaith space?

[He moves the camera so that everyone can see the space clearer.] Back home, I did interfaith ministry. No matter what you practiced or who you believed in - or who you didn't - these prayer rooms would be sacred spaces for you to stop and take a moment to reflect. Prayers, meditation, even just a cup of tea or a chat with a religious counselor... I'd like to make all of that happen here.

But... to do that, I'll need your support. If you're interested in helping me, or in just using the space, let me know. Just tell me about your faith, or your spirituality, and what you'd need, and I'll try my best to make it happen.

Sure. With a place like this, we could always use extra hands. [The relief on his face's more than a little obvious - for a while, he thought it would just be him and Allen.]

I'm still not sure which religions're most popular here, but if you want to suggest a service, I could try to find someone knowledgeable enough for it. Or incorporate some of it into an interfaith service.

Mm, I'm Catholic, although . . . I don't think I'm qualified to lead a service.

[He doesn't know how he feels about an interfaith service with Catholic components, but he sort of feels like a nun would yell at him about it.]

Do you need help now? I could fly over.

[THANK GOD. After hearing about other non-Earth religions, he wasn't sure how to begin to approach those... but Catholicism? He can approach that easy.] Yeah, that... I don't know what I can do about mass, sorry. The only thing we've got so far is some kind of communion service.

Um, sure? I don't think there's much I can do today. Mostly measurements and getting a feel for what we could add to the space.

Well. [He smiles briefly.] It's better than nothing, I think. And better than someone unqualified trying to perform mass [and, again, getting yelled at by spectral space nuns].

I was just over anyway, looking the space over. I'll be there in a moment?

[His brain's trying to imagine the unqualified service - and he sees a space pope looming in his future. That can't end well.] Definitely. I can lead the prayers for my faith, but that's about it.

Okay. [If the guy's on his way over, Stefan's not in a position to stop him.] I'll try and meet you then.

[He gives a small smile and wave and cuts the feed - and is, in fact, over in a few minutes. He's still kind of leery of the Iskaulit, because space bugs, but he manages to locate the room Stefan's in without too much of a fuss. Poking his head in the door:]

Why this room? [Which is not the most polite introduction, but he's curious.]

Look outside. [Stefan rises to his feet, pocketing his diary as he approaches the other guy. True, it's not the most obvious explanation, but it was the deciding factor.

The wooden floors were a benefit, but the windows? The windows sold him.] When you build an interfaith center, you want something that reminds you of the outside world... and well, windows seemed like a decent compromise.

[Oh. Well, then. He can't help but smile at that; it's true, after all. Even if it's not light filtering in through stained glass, it's something.]

Did you see Ino's trying to start a garden? That might help, eventually. Once they get it going.

Her and Dr. Crusher, right? [He saw the broadcast, but he doesn't know them personally - not well enough to comment on it, at least.] I should ask them about it, yeah.

It'd be nice to have a few here. We had bamboo back home, and random flowers from whoever got married earlier that month, but I wasn't exactly in charge of the greenery.
