Who: Stefan Salvatore and you!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: The Iskaulit
When: August 21st
[Stefan promised Allen that he would scout the Iskaulit for potential locations for an interfaith space. The formal name would come later, should he think up something catchier... While he's poking around the entire ship, he finally settles upon a moderately-sized room (with a few springline windows on one side and a wooden floor) towards the back of the ship.
He'll be in the room for a while, trying to guess measurements and sketch ideas for how this space could best work. Around the time he settles in, he switches the feed on:]
There's a lot of great stuff happening right now - makes this feel more like a community. Which is kind of why I'm wondering, would anyone else be interested in an interfaith space?
[He moves the camera so that everyone can see the space clearer.] Back home, I did interfaith ministry. No matter what you practiced or who you believed in - or who you didn't - these prayer rooms would be sacred spaces for you to stop and take a moment to reflect. Prayers, meditation, even just a cup of tea or a chat with a religious counselor... I'd like to make all of that happen here.
But... to do that, I'll need your support. If you're interested in helping me, or in just using the space, let me know. Just tell me about your faith, or your spirituality, and what you'd need, and I'll try my best to make it happen.

Uh, but seriously - that's good to know. Interfaith stuff can cause chaos on Earth, but that's of the human variety.
audio;
Yes, the humans of Earth seem to be... detached from their gods, compared to how it is elsewhere.
So, I hope you're not going at this without expecting there to be problems along the course of it.
audio;
[Nor would it be half as rewarding, as much as he hates to admit it.] I'm mostly hoping for not-as-violent struggles this time around, but that might be asking for too much.
audio;
For this space you are envisioning, you mentioned "religious counselors."
...What exactly did you mean by that? What would that entail?
audio;
That's where religious counselors - or chaplains - come in. They're people who... uh, they listen to people's concerns, and help them with their specific needs. Rather than shoving our faiths down their throats.
[He pauses for a couple of seconds:] Would you be interested in that?
audio;
At the very least, I am interested in the creation of such a space. If you are still looking for those who would like to be involved with that...?
audio;
I'm Stefan, by the way. If you want to meet me in person, I'm still on the Iskaulit, but I can also talk more here about like, what things interfaith people deal with. [Most of which are pretty mundane, at least back on Earth.]
audio;
And I'm rather settled where I'm at, currently... [you have no idea how comfy a dragon's nest is, man.] ...But, I would love to hear more about it. And I am especially partial to stories.
audio;
Let's see... [He's racking his brain for a story - any story - that would work for a non-Earthling. (Some religion stories are specific to Earth, you see.) It takes him a few seconds!] Oh! I've got a few that could work. I said we try to bridge different faiths together, right? Problem is, most people on Earth are human, and well... they're kinda stubborn.
Most of the fighting are things like, people who practice this faith can't eat meat, but people who practice that faith can. And they can't agree on what to eat or how to eat it. [Can you hear the eye-rolling?] They just can't see other people's points of view, and that's mostly where we come in.
audio;
And are the disputes always so... nonviolent?
audio;
Usually? People don't exactly grab their pitchforks for these things. [He's not even trying to hide his surprise.] There have been wars over religion, sure, but that's not... it's not what I deal with.
audio;
I doubt such a thing would have succeeded so easily in my homeland. I very much enjoy the concept, however. You're lucky to come from somewhere so accepting.
