[On the broadcast, Wrath is a bit more sober than normal, which is to say not actively grinning. Her hands are smudged with ink; she rests her chin in one and gestures with the other.]

I've been thinking.

Back home in Proles, we have a thing called the Memorial of the Line. Or we just call it the Wall. It's in district 3, has this nice little park... but anyway, it's a big, long wall with all the names of the soldiers and civilians who died on the Line etched in to it.

I lost a lot of friends on the Line. So I like going there once a week. I take my kitten, we have ice cream, and we just... hang out with everyone.

People die and go away all the time. Hell... at least where I'm from, dying is better than going away, because you know nothing's going to hurt any more. But. That's not the point. It sucks, and it hurts to lose people, but all you can really do is keep on with the fight and stay positive, right?

So is there anything like a Wall here? I don't think people going away here is like... there isn't compliance here. And it's not like dying. But it still sucks and hurts and people feel sad. And it's good to remember everyone who was here, I think. Remembering things is... really important.

If we don't have a Wall, I think we should. We already have something for all the Nunnilis. There's still a lot of room on the Iskaulit and it's a ship for everyone. That way someone will always remember. They can take memories from you, but they can't take the things that are etched.

And I wouldn't mind taking care of it! I like doing stuff like that.

[Almost stops there. But... oh yeah!]

Even if people don't want a Wall, would anyone mind if I do a mural on one of the bulkhead walls in the Iskaulit? I found one that's just perfect and I have this awesome idea.

[Assuming there's no major objection, she's easy to find poking around in the Iskaulit, maybe prepping for some painting...

I've not seen anything of such scale with my own eyes. Back home -- [ and she means home: england ] -- small churchyards would put up dour sorts of memorials. Old battlefields carried much the same.

I think that's how things would've gone back home, but we were all in the dome after the Line. All the battlefields were outside. [She wrinkles her nose.] And full of dysthropes, so not very peaceful.

I think it'd be up to them, right? We shouldn't go around just erasing other people's names. And they might not be the same person who was here before. That happened in Proles sometimes. It's really fucked up.

That is weird. [But considering the Multiverse theory, it's not much of a surprise.] But yeah. Yeah, you're right about that. If they ask about it, they can erase it if they want, or leave it there - you know, for the life they had here.

I mean, it's kind of cool that when people go away they don't necessarily die. That's a lot happier than how it normally works.

Letting people have choices whenever they can is super important though. There aren't many choices.

[Memorials. Those are things, Eugene remembers, watching Wrath's broadcast with a feeling somewhere between nostalgia and deja vu. Tragedies happen, people recover, people build memorials. He knows that Abel's put up a few. Even a statue or two. But a big memorial, something that encompasses the vast losses suffered by the township, the country, the world-?

He isn't even sure that one of those will someday exist, sometimes.

It's the kind of thing Phil would want, and that realization it what hits him in the gut. Because if Phil stood for for something like that, Jack would be right there to second it, and-]

[That's faster on the reply button than he usually is, and he hesitates a second before he continues.]

Both of them. Whatever art or history we can scrape together for ourselves, that's . . . that's valuable. That's something that's ours.

[Rogue arrives on the Iskaulit in her workout gear - gloves and a charcoal gray jumpsuit over one of the cover-ups she'd purchased on the Blue planet. She pauses when she sees pink. Bright pink.

[Her memory sucks. Better to check these things.]

[A nod at Wrath's question,] Yeah. [Then Rogue shrugs.] Not much. Headin' over ta the gym. What about you?

Oh, I'm just starting some work on a mural, since no one said I shouldn't. I think art should help with morale. At least I hope so!

Exercise is really important, though.

[Beverly is all for this idea. After all, what had Natasha said? "The only disservice you could do Julian at this point is forgetting about him." And right now, she really wants to talk to the one other person she knows Julian befriended. They can remember together. So, she seeks Wrath out on the Iskaulit.]

[Her voice cracks a little when she says her friend's name. Even after her talk with Nat, this is hard for her.]

[Wrath's standing in front of her chosen wall, a roll of tape in hand as she works on blocking things out. She looks over her shoulder and smiles.]

Oh no, what happened? [There haven't been any attacks or anything, have there? Though she hasn't heard from him in a while...]

Yeah. We don't have the equipment for good laser etching. Just have to find paints with good bonding power so things can't just get erased.

I think it's... necessary. Memory fucks up all the time.
