[One moment he is on the Marsiva, waiting, and the next, he is appearing on the S.S. Bishop with a flourish of confetti and-- is that glitter? That can't be good for the ventilation systems. Ah, well. He doesn't seem interested in the 'dessert' that's been sent along with him. And honestly, he doesn't look like much-- just a skinny as hell fifteen year old dressed in a lavender shirt and some ridiculous pants. He's decidedly plain.

But there is a nasty slant to his smile, an edge to his eyes, that doesn't do much to make him seem friendly.]

I'm not sure what I expected... and yet I'm still disappointed.

[When he's met his crew and such, he pops onto the network. He'll figure out the video function later.]

You know, I always thought space would be full of more... unusual things. Blue alien women wearing Harajuku latex, next-generation food replicators, oddball electronic music... But this?

This is about as appetizing physically and mentally as boiled tofu.

I am not whelmed.

I don't exactly spend my time watching science fiction, but I was still expecting something flashier, you know? This place looks like it needs a fresh coat of paint. [He shrugs.] Oh well.

[Though Joshua is a bit cranky, he's not projecting it towards Henry specifically. He smiles it away, putting on his usual mask without trouble.]

You can call me Joshua. I'll be your... ah, what was it? Your counselor. [He gives a lazy salute. It'd probably be mocking to anyone else.] At your service, Captain.

[ He can be the ship's fashion counselor too. ]

Hmm~ If we find any paint, we could do that...

[ Taking his duties as captain to mean keeping the crew happy. Also he's just kind of eager to please, normally. ]

Ahaha, you can just call me Henry.

[ It probably won't seem as awkward as calling someone like this "Captain," either. ]

Space is a massive space of darkness. I really don't see how you could expect much else.

I don't think they care about impressing.

I know, right? With the creepy junker ships, you'd at least expect that thing from Alien to show up somewhere. Or space cowboys. So far it's kind of just been sitting around.

The only aliens we've met have been a little underwhelming! I'd hope for more than humans with a new paint job. But we do have some fascinating nonhumans on board! Buck up!

[Hey look, he figured out this function.]

Oh really? Do tell. Japan might be strange, but I have to admit it's lacking in aliens.

Space cowboys! Even though I'm not much for western wear, I'll take anything that doesn't look like a prison show. Plus, there's something very cute about petticoats.

They probably have fashion designers out here, somewhere. We'll just have to keep our eyes open. In the meantime, we can make our own fun.

That's too bad. Do you think they'll care after we've staged a revolution and taken over the mother ship?

There's not that much to tell, unfortunately. We didn't stay on that planet long. [Also, she sounds hoarse. Maybe she's sick?] It was mostly barren desert from what I could tell, with little plant and animal life to speak of - unusual, since they said they'd been working on terraforming for a while. All of the people there were orange and ash blond, but humanoid in body structure and metabolism.

To whom do I owe the pleasure, by the way?

Wrong.

Space is full of countless galaxies, each containing mind-breaking amounts of solar systems just like the one you're from. And that's without touching alternate universes, which most certainly exist.

You should expect anything and everything.

I hope it's a lovely, cheerful color. We could even paint things on it.

[Yes, that sounds good. He easily slips his hands into his pockets, just as smiley as Henry and yet somehow more unsettling. How the hell does he manage that?]

Henry, then. Do you actually know how to fly the ship, or did you get the same 'training' everyone gets? I'm just curious.

Well, well other than a single crappy planet, this part of space has been a massive bunch of darkness. So guess we just got the boring part of space!

Orange and... blonde. Sounds like an unfortunate spray tan incident more than extraterrestrial contact.

My name is Joshua. I'm the S.S. Bishop's counselor. I'm sure we'll have plenty to talk about, hee hee.

[Nah, he just likes pointing out how small-minded and insignificant people are.]

There is a lot of space in space. Maybe we won't have to wait ten years to get to the next planet, or maybe we'll waste away and die here, supposedly on someone else's screen...

Who knows.

I dunno. Us wasting away sounds like a really boring show.

Until we start turning on each other.

I am a student of fine taste, thank you. Humans are disgusting.

I was thinking more along the lines of... making and breaking alliances, fist fights, voting people off the island. Or in this case, shoving them out the airlock.

I dunno. Might taste better than the proteins.

Ah, that. [He'd say more but really - with how cynical he is, he wouldn't be surprised if that stuff did happen eventually.]
