Hey, so there's a lot of people in the Fleet from a lot of species and I'm wondering: how many have mental powers? Empathy, or telepathy, or suggestion... that kind of thing.

And if you don't, what do you think about it?

Precisely. The question itself is flawed, in that case. It is important to ask oneself what kind of goals you would like to accomplish and what you would like to avoid, and base your actions around that instead. For example, it is noble to follow the philosophy of "do no harm", but not a practical way to prevent injury if your friends are being attacked and you will not engage the enemy.

Without question, he would. He has been trying to find a way to reverse the process for years, but so far nothing has been successful. But since it cannot be avoided, he at least uses it in a productive fashion.

Why should they be rated differently? A cut to the arm can render it useless and cause pain, as can damage to the mind's faculties. Damage to the mind can be permanent, but so can damage to the physical body.

I doubt Atroma would bring him here. The chance of causing a hull breach would be entirely too high, even for their version of entertainment value.

[Crook a...ah. Prosthetics.] There are some societies where it is possible to fix mental damage as easily or moreso than physical damage, but as we have several medical doctors here and no psychologists, I will concede the point.

Should that happen, I would of course gladly introduce you.
