[He can be found out by the stables, getting as close to the horses as he can in his chair, without rolling over their feet. He wishes so hard that he could just climb up and ride one - almost as much as he wishes he could shift into his wolf's skin, and run with the strange fox-dogs out in the desert sand. Today is not a very happy day.]

[Bran doesn't entirely understand what that means - "it's in your heart" is so vague, it sounds like something the three-eyed crow might tell him. But he flushes at the ears and gives as much of a smile as he can manage.]

[Wow Steven is a lot cooler than a three-eyed crow. He is a bit taken aback by Bran's response, but luckily Steven has a response of his own prepared for just such an occasion.]

No, you are!

[Bran pauses, a little confused over why Steven would argue about this, until he sees that he doesn't seem angry. He seems to be joking.]

You know, you told me you'd be my friend even though I didn't remember. That's a sign of a great friend to me.

[Bran just blinks at that. Him, a good friend?]

I didn't want them to send you home, back when you lived on the First Breath. You were the first person who helped me.

It is! A good friend is good at accepting people when they're not perfect.

I was? I'm sorry I got sent back home. But I'm proud that I helped you, Bran!

It isn't your fault. No one gets a choice about when they go home, no matter how they ask.
