She wants this guy to like her, since he's been here longer, and, well. She doesn't want to get thrown off the ship. So, time to make herself sound useful, presenting her abilities like a resume.]

Well, let's see... Wind is sort of an odd spell out as a utility spell, since I specialize in offensive magic. I have access to three tiers of Fire spells, and Sleep, and a few more I'm trying to keep hidden to use on the Atroma- It's hard to defend if they don't know what's coming, after all. I also have some basic healing magic, though it's not very strong.

Is that something you were born with, or had to study to use, or...? [ he shakes his head again, settling back to watch the way the piece spins in the air. ] If I'm being too invasive, please feel free to tell me to shut up, by the way.

It's... complicated? Everyone in my world has the ability to use magic, except the merfolk. But you have to learn how to do it through practice. I learned my first spell... probably around when I was six?

[That second part sounds familiar enough to her that she almost laughs, but restrains herself.]

Or to mention that if she started levelgrinding, she could probably have a spell to resurrect the dead before too long, and her best friend had it already.

It's probably telling that she's more concerned about the social ramifications of this than his... actually being dead. But still, permanent death is something she literally only learned existed a couple months before coming to the Fleet- It's been half a year at most, and it still seems alien to her in many ways. On the other hand...]
