I bet if we had both our teams here, we'd find a way out.

[She smiles a little.]

Probably why Atroma took us doctors instead of the physicists.

[personal profile] forsometimenow 2015-10-27 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's true. I feel rather boring compared to the rest of my team, but at least I won't be the one to cobble together a bunch of spare parts and open up a portal or something.
dancingmd: (why aren't we all being interrogated?)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2015-10-28 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[She laughs.]

No, doctors aren't particularly known for our abilities to rip holes in space and time. I think the fleet is safe from us.

We're just here to fix people and occasionally give sarcastic color commentary.

[personal profile] dancingmd 2015-10-31 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly.

[Speaking of fixing people... They have totally arrived at the Wonderduck's sickbay by now. Beverly points at Jennifer's Atroma issued scanner, seeing as she doesn't have her own tricorder on her.]

May I?
forsometimenow: (sleeping)

[personal profile] forsometimenow 2015-11-01 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Go for it. [Jennifer sat herself on the exam table, then lay down on her back, arms folded across her chest with her hands linked together.] Here's hoping us two geniuses can figure it out.
dancingmd: (chinhands)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2015-11-02 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[She snorts.] I'm hardly a genius, so you may have to pick up some of the slack.

[Once she's gathered the appropriate equipment from around the lab, she begins Jennifer's scan. It takes longer than the tricorder would have, but it's good enough. When the results come up, she turns them to Jennifer to see as well.]

No unusual neurological activity, no sign of any viruses or bacteria. By all accounts, you're perfectly healthy.
forsometimenow: (annoyed)

[personal profile] forsometimenow 2015-11-02 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm sure you'll do well enough on your own.

[Jennifer frowned as she looked at the results. Indeed, there was nothing out of the ordinary.]

So I'm going to guess either the equipment is out of whack, or it IS the augment. I'm leaning toward the latter, though it's not like we'd be able to find out for sure either way...
dancingmd: (oookay)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2015-11-03 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Back on the ocean planet, a similar thing happened when my augment was malfunctioning. My tricorder registered a spike in endorphins, but that's it. The only logical conclusion was that it was caused by the augment.
forsometimenow: (thinking)

[personal profile] forsometimenow 2015-11-03 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm... [Jennifer crossed her arms.] Then that's most likely it. I wonder what caused it- and more importantly, how to fix it? It's not like we can just hack into them or something.

This time? I think it has something to do with the nebula. Before, I have no doubt it was Atroma toying with us, either to improve ratings or to remind us of the control they have over us. Maybe a little bit of both. Now, though, with the way the nebula interfered with all our electronics, it makes sense that it could affect the augments as well.
forsometimenow: (ahh)

[personal profile] forsometimenow 2015-11-04 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That does make a lot of sense. Because our ships malfunctioned as soon as we flew into it, and if these are of Atroma make... then they would naturally be affected, too.
dancingmd: (chinhands)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2015-11-06 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Which means... I don't suppose caffeine has had any effect, has it?
forsometimenow: (thinking)

[personal profile] forsometimenow 2015-11-08 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Not that I've seen, no. Or exercise, or taking a shower, or anything else that makes me feel more awake.
dancingmd: (concerned)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2015-11-09 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I doubt medication would have any effect either. [Her brow furrows.] I'm worried that you might fall asleep in someplace less safe than the cargo bay... I mean, what if this happened while you were taking a shower or cooking?
forsometimenow: (*le siiigh*)

[personal profile] forsometimenow 2015-11-10 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah... that's a good point. [She sighed.] I'll try to move about as little as possible until it passes, I guess. And let my crew know so they can keep an eye out for me- I know Steven and Davesprite would help as much as they could.
dancingmd: (Default)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2015-11-10 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Beverly rests her hand on Jennifer's shoulder.] That would certainly make me feel better.
forsometimenow: (:))

[personal profile] forsometimenow 2015-11-11 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Then I promise I'll take it easy.
dancingmd: (Default)

wrap?

[personal profile] dancingmd 2015-11-12 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Good. You’ll let me know as soon as anything changes?
forsometimenow: (confident)

wrap!

[personal profile] forsometimenow 2015-11-13 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely.
