[Ahsoka wakes with a start. Even before she's fully conscious, everything around her feels wrong. One thing is instantly apparent: this is not her beautiful home. Ha ha, that's a joke. Get it? Because she has no home right now, and if she did, it wouldn't be beautiful. Her hands fly instantly to her belt for her lightsabers, but-- oh, that's right. She doesn't have them anymore. She remembers that much. So why can she not remember how she got here?

Eyes wide and breathing hard, she fights down rising panic to take inventory of her surroundings instead. What does she know? What can she find out?

Spaceship. Gravity? Normal. Oxygen? Normal. Something about a game show? Whatever. She dismisses that piece of information, it's clearly not relevant right now. Next she checks the door-- not locked. She lets herself out. Hallways-- no guards. Well, that's slightly unsettling. In fact, as she runs down the hallways of the ship from one place to another, it becomes increasingly apparent that there's no personnel anywhere. And no way off. Eventually she stops running after what seems like her fiftieth traverse down yet another an empty passageway, one hand on her chest trying to calm her rapidly beating heart. Finally, she mutters to herself:]

Well. I suppose you don't need guards if you can't get out.

I'm stranded on what appears to be a large cruiser of indeterminate class with no apparent crew and in an unknown system. If anyone has any information on what star system we're in, or recognises the vessel and knows where the escape pods are, I'd be very grateful.

Yeah. So, we're in a fleet now, I guess. And we each live on different ships on the fleet, with other people? Team-style.

[ "Fleet." "Team." "Assigned." These are all words Ahsoka knows, but-- only in one specific context. ]

... There must be some mistake. I'm... not part of the Order anymore. Did someone miss the memo? Or has the Republic started drafting civilians?

No, see, I've been to different worlds.

Do you mean to say we're in a different... universe?

... Okay. Okay. Leaving aside how that's even possible for now, [ because Ahsoka gets the feeling she won't know ] and that is a very, very big thing to leave aside-- my next question is: why?

[Ahsoka's lips purse together in a distinctly annoyed frown. Not at Nova, though. It's not the first time she's been abducted, but she has to admit, this is impressive. And irritating.]

Well they better hope they remain faceless, because if I catch up to them their faces are going to be the last of their problems.

Okay, so let me get a few things straight. We're not being hunted. There's no war. Are there any Jedi here?

I don't know what that is.

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka just blinks once, stunned for a moment, before recovering.]

... Okay! Well. I guess that answers that question.

Just how different this place is. If people haven't heard of the Order, then... well, the answer is "pretty different."

I meant... what's a Jedi?

[resnipstance]

... Oh. Right.

[Sorry, Nova. She's never had to explain what a Jedi is to someone, before.]

The Jedi are peacekeepers. Basically. They're sort of like an... inter-galactic order that operates outside of local planetary jurisdiction, seeking to maintain balance and harmony, comprised of Force-sensitive individuals.

[...... It also doesn't occur to her that she might have to explain what the Force is, either.]

...I'm going to guess "peacekeepers" for you is different from "Peacekeepers" for me.

Are they a positive thing?

[ and we'll probably get back to the Force thing. or she started tuning the rest out after she heard peacekeepers ]

Well, sure. ... In what universe would people dedicated to upholding peace and justice be a bad thing?

Where I'm from, the government's police forces are called Peacekeepers. The way they choose to keep peace is through violent suppression, I guess.

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka's indignation is palpable.]

What?! That's not a peacekeeper. That's just a common thug.

I guess it changes when you have the government to support you.

[resnipstance]

I suppose so. The Republic supports the Jedi Order back home, and the Order supports the Republic, but... ultimately they're independent, subject to their own rules. It's more like a partnership than an ownership.
