001 ➳ audio + action.
Who: Nyssa.
Broadcast: Fleetwide audio.
Action: Around the Marsiva
When: 1/11.
[ A woman's voice, British-accented, commanding, level, says, ]
I am Nyssa, daughter of Ra's al Ghul. I intend to exact justice from our captors, these — Atroma. We are not playthings, and we will not be caged forever.
I will be indebted to those who fight beside me. [ a beat ] If you intend to stop me, your defeat is not only likely, it is inevitable.
[ and the audio clicks off, but a few seconds later on again, ]
If anyone knows how to remove these implants, I would be doubly grateful.
[ Nyssa is prowling about the ship, peering into empty or unlocked rooms, in the common areas. There must be something here she can appropriate as a weapon. Her bow isn't enough. ]
[ When she finds nothing, she returns to the gym, and can be found in her League uniform (sans weapons), either meditating or going through sword kata. ]

This left her with three options, really. 3) Ignore 2) "Damn straight" 1)] Thanks.
[Simple, and time to take that drink.
New face? Didn't mean that much... she wasn't exactly Miss Social and she had no idea if this was someone new to the fleet or just someone she hadn't met yet.]
[ action ]
How long have you been here?
[ action ]
Here as in on this ship? As in the whole universe?
[ action ]
The ship, if you please. You will pardon me if I lack interest in your life story.
[ action ]
You think I was offerin' ta share it?
[With that, she heads back toward the punching bag.
After all, if Nyssa thinks about it, there was a lot more information in there than a nonexistent offer to have a heart to heart.]
[ action ]
[ She shrugs, largely unbothered by the attitude. Outsiders are a mystery. Laurel is an exception, but Laurel is a happy mystery instead of a puzzling or a frustrating one. ]

She sighs steadies the punching bag before deciding that the pertinent facts would fulfill her heroic requirement of the day.]
Reckon I've been on this ship 'bout as long as everyone else - near a month now. Been on the fleet 'bout... four. [A quick glance at the woman in the corner before she shifts her position, prepared to continue getting out way too much energy. (This is what normal people feel, Rogue.)] In this universe for 'bout as long, for the record. None on the ship are from here.

[No, seriously. She's been in two of these gin joints and the scale is definitely weighted on the side of 'ridiculously attractive.'
But she does recognize that New will not necessarily appreciate that as information or humor, so Rogue sighs a little and tries to put her hero hat on. It's ill-fitting, and hats don't look great on her anyway, but she steps out from behind the punching bag to give New the full weight of her attention, making eye contact and moving into a fluid and ready stance with her shoulders straight.]
Listen, the position we're in sucks, even though yeah, it could be a lot worse. [A lot worse.] There's no real way of knowin' what they want from us, they haven't dropped any real clues yet as far as I can see. Lotta people are tryin' ta figure it out, and you're probably better off talkin' to them. Me... [one gloved hand reaches up to her neck and two fingers tap the spot over Rogue's augment] I can't forget that they've got somethin' plugged into our brains. Our perceptions can't necessarily be trusted. When that's gone, I figure the best thing ta do is wait an' see and roll with the punches.
[And watch for your moment.
And build up trust between each other -- because when you can't trust your perceptions, you can trust your friends.
But that's not the sort of thing Rogue says on first acquaintance and this has already hit her word limit. Though there is a certain something about Rogue's gaze, her stance, that indicates 'wait and see' is not the final part of her plan.]
