I will be indebted to those who fight beside me. [ a beat ] If you intend to stop me, your defeat is not only likely, it is inevitable.

[ and the audio clicks off, but a few seconds later on again, ]

If anyone knows how to remove these implants, I would be doubly grateful.

[ Nyssa is prowling about the ship, peering into empty or unlocked rooms, in the common areas. There must be something here she can appropriate as a weapon. Her bow isn't enough. ]

[ When she finds nothing, she returns to the gym, and can be found in her League uniform (sans weapons), either meditating or going through sword kata. ]

[People prowling about generally catches Cullen's attention. He pauses on his way, deciding whether to engage or not. They're all on the same boat (or ship, ha ha), and so his sense of charity gets the best of him.]

[ That obvious? Though she supposes it's a credit to the people on board that they notice when someone looks around the place. ]

[ But the swords were a gift, from her father. Her father who's spurned her and exiled her, but her father nonetheless. Nyssa purses her lips. ]

Do you know of a blacksmith? And where I can get metal? Or wood?

Not on this ship. If we come to a place that has such things you may find what you need. [He wishes he could say no, there's no point in having weapons, but unfortunately that's not the case.]

For now, this is all there is.

[ She inclines her head, in a small nod. ]

[She gets a small nod in return.]

Cullen Rutherford. [He's not the best at greeting new people, but Maker, he does... try.] Where are you from>

Nanda Parbat. [ a beat, she adds, ] Earth, though I was not aware that qualifier was necessary until very recently.

[That gets a chuckle.] Thedas. A given, coming from there. The concept of different worlds and universes does take some time to settle.

You do not feel small, in all this?

[ From someone else it might have rung as a personal question, but Nyssa is direct. ]

I've had a while to come to terms.

How long, [ and because she likes him, ] if I may ask?

About seven or eight months, now. You start to lose count around the fourth.

[It's a joke.

Cullen isn't good at jokes.]

[ Nyssa huffs a sound that might be amusement. ]

That's the longest I've heard. Perhaps they find you more entertaining than most.

[He makes a face at that.]

Unfortunately, that may be the case. There are more than have been here longer. You'll meet them sooner or later.

[ Shaking her head, ]
