01 - Action/Video
Who: Dracule Mihawk and Anyone else.
Broadcast: Video - Fleetwide.
Action: Marsiva.
When: Now.
[It's the annoying chill that stirs the swordsman from sleep, already frowning as he pulls back the sheets and cracks his neck once. Chill tends to stiffen one's body and bones. Now, as her rubs his face with a long yawn, Mihawk peers around at the unfamiliar space, the even more unfamiliar clothes, and his scowl only seems to set in place. He's not unfamiliar with being dragged from his home, his world and thrust into a whole other one on the whims of whatever nonsense that sees fit to haven him there, but there is one thing that is lacking the confined space he finds himself in.
One very large and exceptionally important thing.
At the very least his clothes and his cross necklace (doubling as a small, concealed knife) are inside the chest. After dressing, he sweeps up his communicator and easily flicks it on. He's had previous experience with gadgets like this, after all. He doesn't care where he is, how he got here, what his purpose for being here is. Mihawk has not a care about that frivolous bullshit, he just wants to know--]
Where is my sword?
[Later, after Mihawk has heard enough, he's gone to explore and to look for his sword. Regardless of what he's been told, he's not parting with Yoru so easily. One way or another he's getting it back. He doesn't look any angrier than usual as he prowls through the halls like a stalking wildcat, but the sheer presence of him, the sharpness that hides in the edges of his golden eyes...it's obvious Mihawk's not at all pleased with this so-called fine print. Not in the least.]

Once a month. The ship docks month a month...that's too long to wait to have even a sparse chance to try and locate his sword on some other world. Mihawk is feeling one hell of a headache coming on, and his brows knit together as he closes his eyes with a deep scowl, chewing on the information and exhaling slowly.]
How long is the stay, once docked? [Interruption? Whatever, so long as they get moving again, and soon. He rubs his thumb over his cross necklace, which conceals his knife, the only weapon (albeit very small) he still has from how] And are we allowed to keep weapons at all? Things we find, I mean...or will they be taken as well, once we board the ship once again?
video;
And yeah, you can keep what you find or what you can buy. It's just a pain in the ass to build up a collection like that again ...
[ Ino, stop complaining, at least you have some weapons now. ]
video;
There is a monetary system in place here? [That's new. Adstring didn't give them the luxury. It was the trading of goods or services to get what one needed.] How are the stipends earned and provided?
video;
That's right. We get paid to be here in the Fleet like it's our job, basically. You get money put into your account every week by Atroma, the people who supposedly brought us here in the first place. The amount you get paid depends on how "interesting" you've been to whoever the hell is actually watching this mess as it happens.
video;
So, the more favorable you are, the greater your wage... Imbecilic. [Yep.] Is there a set amount we are given weekly, if we do not appeal to the masses? I cannot say I'll be as interesting as others, I'm afraid.
video;
It's dumb, but that's how it works. Use it or ignore it however you want.
And yeah, you get paid no matter what. You just get bonuses if you do something crazy. Which can come in handy if you're trying to get, you know, a big old shiny sword or something.
video;
Crazy, though? Crazy he can do if the setting is right.]
Duly noted.
video;
Still, she nods ... and keeps talking, because she doesn't know how to shut up. ]
So, the one you're looking for, is it like -- one of those swords that can talk? Or it just works really well?
video;
It is a treasure of limitless value to one learned in swordsmanship. I have pledged myself to that blade as it has sworn its alliance to me. Not going above and beyond my limits to retrieve it when it was taken would be an insult to the pact forged between she and I.
[You don't commit that long to something you treasure and give up on it so easily. Mihawk's furious and guilty at himself for allowing Yoru to be stolen away as easily as she was, too.]
video;
[ That's a lot of talk for a guy so quiet looking, but it's clear he knows his stuff! ]
I can think of a few guys who'd love to take you on for that title.
[ Though, none of them are actually here ... She lets out a little sigh. ]
Well, I hope you'll be able to find it. I've been here about a year now and we still haven't really found any way to figure out where Atroma's keeping all our stuff, and they're weirdly hellbent on making sure it's hard for us to get weapons at all. Pretty dumb considering most of us could kill someone with anything lying around if we actually wanted to, but you know, whatever. They pretty clearly have access to items from the places we came from, though -- we've been able to win items back from casinos and stuff.
video;
But for now, he listens again. The well-wishes he's gotten for his sword's return are much appreciated, if a little strange. Anyone from his world would have either taken if for their own (until he found them) - I suppose that's just the era of piracy on the Mother Sea.]
Mmh, I agree - any blade in my hands, regardless of it is my own, is still a blade. [He runs his thumb over his cross necklace slowly while his index finger curls the string its attached to. He could probably get fat with just his knife, if he wanted to. Fact of the matter is, he doesn't. There's not point to just slaughtering everyone, what would that achieve, other than one hell of a mess?] But I will lament my sword until she is returned to her proper place. Bought, won, or taken back...
Young lady, you say you have been here a year, correct? Have you found anything of yours in that time? [He wants to gauge something, and he needs answers from a variety of people, starting here.]
video;
That's right. I've found a couple things, but they were just harmless personal items -- photos, jewelry, stuff like that. I didn't really have any special weapon like yours, but I was able to buy some throwing knives at a place we stopped to replace the ones I was carrying before I got here.
video;
Also, the thought of replacing his sword repulses him something fierce, so much that he scoffs at the mere mention. He may have no choice in the matter though, if he wants to stay alive.]
I may have no other choice than to find another sword...as a sister sword to the one I have yet to be reunited with. [Not a replacement, just another blade. Yoru cannot be replaced.]
video;
It really sucks, I know, but better than nothing, right?
video;
[That'd just deter him from his goal- both finding his sword and getting off this world in one piece. He knows he's more useful with a weapon, but his knife can only do so much even in his hands. He needs a sturdy blade to call his own for now, and hope it lasts until he can find Yoru.
But this conversation has stagnated, and Mihawk feels he's talked more than enough. He wants to stretch his legs and look around, maybe get more answers from the people operating this vessel. He tips his hat down at the video screen.]
Your time, miss. [Thanks.]
video;
You're not even gonna introduce yourself?
[ MANNERS, MIHAWK. ]
video;
Only no, Mihawk tilts his head slightly to the side and lifts a brow. He knows his manners, but it seems improper to give his name only because he won't ask for hers in turn. In his life, names and faces tend to blend together after a while, so he just doesn't bothering asking when he knows he won't commit it to memory. She's been helpful, yes, but nothing right now has stood out about this young woman for him to think twice about remembering her for longer than perhaps a day. Sorry.]
Dracule Mihawk.
