[Furiosa is, on one hand, relieved to be back on the First Breath. The Calibrations were exhausting, in their own ways, and it's good to be back on her familiar rig.]

[But there's one thing that's pulling at her; a certain absence. She should have made a greater push to find and watch over Nux when they were all on the Marsiva, but she was distracted and unfocused. Now, she can't ignore the niggling truth and decides to take it to the network. She is crisp and clean, fresh from the shower and without the harsh swath of black she'd taken to wearing for Nux's sake. This, she is asking as Furiosa, and not as Imperator.]

Has anyone seen Nux? Red Fish, can you confirm?

[Furiosa sets her mug down and shifts until she's fully facing Nova. She doesn't know - couldn't possibly know - the other woman's circumstances, but maybe if she shared her own it might help.]

I grew up in a harsh world. The ... regime, recently fell. I don't know what's going to happen in the aftermath, but I know I need to be there. I know I can help.

What if the regime hadn't fallen? What if the choice was getting sent back into the hell you came from or dying? Or another regime taking its place?

It hadn't, for the longest time. I was pulled back into it more than once. I didn't sit around for seven thousand days and get lucky one night; I tried, I failed, and I tried again.

What worked in the end was joining them, fighting through the ranks, and getting in a position of power that offered me a certain level of trust and tools to pull it off. Hard work, blood, sweat. Seeing it topple, [She pauses for a moment, thinking back, almost losing herself in the memory,] ripping his throat out, was worth. All of it.

I want that... I just don't think I can do it.

You'd be surprised what people are capable of when the going gets tough.

[ she turns her head away, thinking ]

[She sighs and looks at her hand.]

A pregnant woman who had never before been out of the Citadel once hung off the side of the moving war rig to block a shot meant for me. I'd thought they would be too fragile, too unused to the world. She showed me strength can grow anywhere.

I'm not there. I don't want to talk about it right now. I can't do anything from here anyway.

[ she knows furiosa is right, and she knows it's the "right thing to do", to go home and take care of things, but she's scared of all of it, and doesn't know how to handle someone challenging her on her plans, so she opts (if unconsciously) for the shut-down ]

[She nods and sits back in her chair. Nova has a point; there really is little use obsessing over it from here when there's nothing to be done. But, hopefully she's planted some thoughts that will help her incase she gets sent back.]

Did you see anything odd on the Marsiva while we were there?

[ she's still not totally energized to engage but she'll take the subject change ]

Odd how? There are a lot of weird people in the fleet.

I mean, with the ship itself. Some of the technology seemed ... off, in places?

[Nova's free to leave if she wants, but Furiosa has no reason to send her out.]

There were some panels I hadn't noticed before...

I'd noticed that, too. Some of the panels had controls that weren't there earlier.

[Furiosa shakes her head.] Not really. There was a bunch of files with basic statistics, and some that I couldn't open.

[Her augment helped her understand such things a little better, but it was still strange to think about.]
