Uh, never mind. It's just way different from what I've seen before. [Nailed it?

She raises a brow, before understanding what he means.] Oh, right, yeah. [A nod.] Since I got here. Didn't see a reason to transfer, everyone's been nice enough so far.

[Octavia shrugs.] I'm security. What about you?

[frigidaire]

... Right. It showed up in a gift basket, I'm not going to turn it down. Not like we get too much from these jerks anyway.

[ he shrugs, picking at the scarf a moment or two. ]

My other ship was okay, but not made for tall people. Seriously. [ how many times had he hit his head? he shrugs. ] I'm security, too. I mean we're on a spaceship, do we really need security?

[grounds]

Ha, true enough. Guess I got lucky with mine-- a couple meaningful things from home.

[That earns a snort of amusement.] You're in luck. This one's probably better suited for that.

[Octavia pauses to think on it.]

I mean, you never know who might show up here, right? For all we know they could try to rob us, as stupid as that'd be. Also gives the ship itself a little bonus.

[frigidaire]

That's good, I don't think I have anything meaningful left at home.

[ it's said so bluntly, it's hard to say whether he means that in a serious, sad sort of way or not. he shrugs after and rolls his eyes. ]

What would they get if they robbed us? Synthetic powder soup? I mean go ahead, take the stuff, it's gross. But I guess a bonus is good -- the whole space ship thing in general is still pretty weird to me.

[grounds]

That sucks.

[She snorts.] Just because you don't have anything worth taking yet doesn't mean the rest of us don't. I've gotten attached to my weird collection of stuff.

[A pause.] Did that sound as bad as I think it did?
