[ She was looking for him for ... something, who knows, but she's totally distracted now by coloring ... ]

... Where did you get that book from?

[ishere]

Atroma, I think. It's, uh.

[ he looks a little sheepish, but puts his pen down and passes it over to her. it's a cute, nature-themed coloring book. ]

I was thinking about giving it to Nanako. [ ... and then he realized how many colored pens he had. ] You think she'd like it?

[ino]

[ She grins, sitting down next to him ]

Giving it to her after you broke it in a little?

[ishere]

Just the one page. I can't give a gift without quality testing first. Basic stuff, Ino.

[ aka okay so it's actually kind of soothing... ]

[ino]

[ She laughs, snatching a pen to start scribbling on the the opposite page of what he was working on. This tree is now going to have blue leaves, just because. ]

Well, if you have it in your heart to leave a few pages for her, I'm sure Nanako would like it.

[ishere]

I'll try to restrain myself. [ or just buy her a different coloring book and himself some crayons at this point, tbh. he leans forward, peering critically at her scribbles. ] Wow. Hasn't been that long since you've seen a tree, has it?

[ino]

[ She pouts a little. ]

Sure feels like it, anyways ...

But isn't the point of these that you can make all of it any color you want? Quit stifling my creativity.

[ She barely makes it through that last line without cracking up, though ... ]

[ishere]

Yeah, you can, but the blue pen's almost out of ink, so...

[ it sort of it, but not enough to actually run out on her while she's coloring. he's obviously just giving her a hard time. ]

It has been a long time since we've been planetside, though, huh.

[ino]

Mm-hmm.

[ She is noticing that it's starting to get a bit difficult to color solidly with, though, so she'll pick up pink and finish it off that way. ]

At least we're off the Marsiva, I guess.

[ishere]

[ he puts his own pen down, instead just idly watching her page. ]

We should rent another room when we can. Spend a few consecutive days on land. [ he hums, biting back a little grin. ] Remember the first planet we visited after I got here?

[ino]

I remember.

[ Shit, that was almost nine months ago. Where did all that time go ... ]

Remember when you were totally oblivious and didn't realize I liked you, so I hit you in the head with a hairbrush?

[ishere]

Hey, I had good reason to be intimidated. You're still intimidating.

[ there's defensiveness in his tone, but it's 100% playful. ]

Remember when I kept sabotaging all of my own chances with you?

[ino]

I'm not intimidating!

[ She doesn't sound that invested in proving it, though, she's too busy adding a few flowers around the bottom of this tree. But once she's done with that, she sets the pen down and looks at him, amused ]

How could I forget that?

[ishere]

Maybe I was just hoping you had, then.

[ he grins a little at her, before leaning forward, adding a few flowers in red clustered near hers. his own are more square, slightly boxy, but definitely still flowers. ]

[ino]

No such luck.

[ Well, while his hand's there, she adds a little heart on his knuckle, if he'll let her. ]

Also, I came in here to ask you something and now I totally can't remember what it was.

[ishere]

[ he'll just splay his hand out, giving her the entire canvas of the back of his hand if she wants it. ]

Guess you'll just have to hang out here until you remember.

[ino]

Well, that just sounds terrible.

[ In that case ... she'll go about adding a heart to each of his knuckles. ]

How's Hiro?

[ishere]

He's just as Hiro as ever.

[ he flexes his fingers slightly, making a quietly amused noise in the back of his throat. ]

And I thought I looked tough before.

[ino]

[ She looks up from her masterpiece his hand with a bit of a mischievous glint in her eyes ]

I could add an anchor and a naked lady if it'd make you feel better.

[ishere]

[ and he will just sloooowly start to draw his hand back. ]

You know what? I think this is great just the way it is.

[ino]

[ She laughs, putting the pen down and turning her own hand to actually hold on to his ]

Come on, I'm just messing with you.

[ishere]

[ his eyebrows go up and he resists the handhold tokenly, playing as if he's unconvinced. ]

I don't know... maybe I should start wearing long sleeves to bed.

[ino]

[ So mean! She huffs. ]

If you want to sweat to death at night.

[ But oh -- that reminds her of what she was going to ask ]

--That's right, I remember now.

[ she reaches down into her shirt to produce a necklace around her neck -- it's just a pretty small, unassuming seashell on a string. ]

I was going to ask you if you'd be willing to try this out for me. I can't tell if it's enchanted anymore.

[ishere]

[ he makes a curious little sound, reaching out to take the necklace from her. ]

How was it enchanted?

[ino]

[ she'll let it drop into his hand, blinking in confusion at him. ]

Um ... By a witch?

[ she pauses ]

Or do you mean what it's supposed to actually do?
