001

Who: Katie and anyone!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva
When: 1st December

[Oh. Well, this is new.

The bunks are comfy enough, and it's not exactly the first time Katie has found herself in an unfamiliar place. (Is it Thursday?) But it is the first time she's woken up in one for a long time, and so she squints at the door for a long moment trying to remember what she was last doing.

Then she peels off the bunk, blanket and all, and shuffles her way out to explore. She's not particularly worried, and most confusion goes right out the window when she see the giant windows that let her see out into space because seriously. She rockets over, face smooshed against the glass. That's probably where anyone on the Marsiva can find her for a long time, because space. Spaaace. This is the best accidental visit ever.

Much later, she'll actually think to check the comms, and only when she goes looking for the one she's meant to have. She turns up on the feed still with the sheet half draped over her curls and her nose still a little red from her mushed space-watching, and addresses the network cheerfully in a British accent.]

I think I took a left turn. Are we really in space? That's not just a clever painting or something, is it? Does that mean there are spacesuits? Can I go out in it? Is anyone here that I know? And what buttons do I push to leave again? Not that I didn't turn up here on purpose, because I've always wanted to see space and I really can't jump that far. Oh, but I should probably make sure, so if you could help I'd be much obliged.

...oh, I need a sword, too. Mine ran away.

[Hello, I am nine and full of questions and lies. But genuinely, she is curious. Something is afoot.

(But space.)]

Were I to know, I would not be without my sword, little one. [There's a very small edge to that, hidden behind the delicate way Mihawk speaks. What he really means is, he would raise hell to get Yoru back if he knew where she was.]

I have been informed our weapons can be located on the many different planets we visit - if fate is feeling generous, that is. If found, they can be won or purchased...or traded for.

[MAGIC.

Or perhaps just setting out for it once he knows his heading and not stopping until he gets there and mowing down everything in his path until he succeeds or dies trying. Yolo. Anyway, he agrees wholeheartedly, buying back his sword seems obscene, though a competition and winning her isn't...as bad. He won her before from the useless, lazy cur that just made her do all the work for him. What a sad battle that was - he felt sorry for the poor blade, to have such a careless master before him.]

Child, I never once said it is required to buy them back. [He ducks his head with an almost villainous grin while twirling his mustache. Katie, he knows what you're thinking and is pleased that you'd go to such lengths for your blade.] That is simply a formality honest folk enjoy using.
dualcross: (Oh aren't you funny.)

Terribly.

[Or just terrible, the wording is a bit skewed. Mihawk chuckles quietly again - he's missed your antics, Katie, he has. Though it's still upsetting, this means he has to look twice as hard - for his sword and hers. He owes it to her to commit himself that much for her sake - he did call her his nakama back on Adstringendum long ago, and those weren't just empty words.]

Do you recall what my sword looks like?
dualcross: (Heh.)

[Katie, only you could make calling Mihawk's sword yours a joke he actually snorts about. But this actually answers two questions at once - she remembers what his sword looks like and now he knows (vaguely) what hers looks like as well. He'll be looking for it for her.]

Years of practice, I'm sure. Now, can I count on you to inform me immediately if you happen upon my less impressive [He is using that term so loosely it's not even funny. Katie, don't call your sword names.] sword, if you happen upon it? I will be sure to do the same of you, little one.
