[If you've been in the fleet for awhile you might have seen one of these broadcasts before. Allen appears to be in the Blue Fish lab, standing behind a table. Behind him Timcanpy sits on a shelf, this time wearing a small Santa hat. Allen seems to have a smile on, but for the observant it might seem a bit more staged than normal]

Hello everyone! For those who don't know me, I'm Allen Walker, I'm one of the medics aboard the SS Blue Fish. Which I must say, I'm quite glad to be back on the Blue Fish after the last couple months we've had.

Just a couple announcements today! We'll be holding our bi-monthly blood drive next weekend! The blood donated will be kept in case of medical emergencies that require a blood transfusion - in other words, using scientific methods to help someone whose lost a lot of blood. If you are interested in donating, we will pay you in money. Just fill out the form attached to this video. [And sure enough, the form is attached]. If you're interested in volunteering at the drive, we'd welcome the help, just let me know.

And yes, as always, there will be cookies and juice for anyone who donates.

[Alright, that's done, moving on now]

Secondly, it's come to my attention that during this time of year, many worlds have special holidays: Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter Veil, Hearth's Warming Eve, New Years and probably others I haven't heard of yet. There's nothing wrong with choosing to celebrate them even though we are far from home. If anything, it might help people feel a bit better about being here. No matter where you are or what you celebrate- it stands true that a holiday spent with the people you cherish can be truly magical.

[There's a beat as he smiles at the camera, then he continues on in the same chipper manner:]

That said, please be careful of any holiday decorations that may actually be magical, because in some worlds' traditions that's a good way to wind up kissing your crewmates. And if you choose to spend these holidays drinking, please remember to eat and stay hydrated. You'll thank yourself in the morning.

[No, it wasn't easy. But everyone has their own share of hardships. And there were more than plenty good times too]

Really? You guys have a holiday near Halloween? What's it like?

[Because hey, any form of Halloween is a GOOD HOLIDAY in Allen's book. Eff any form of Valentine's day though. But he gives a smile at that.]

Yeah, the ships do feel a bit like a home after awhile. But I'm sure your crew would love it. [Especially Belthazar if it gives him new recipes...]

It's called Nightmare Night. [Cheese brightens, this is one of his FAVES. ]

It's to celebrate Nightmare Moon, this uh- dark time in one of our princesses lives. Fillies and colts dress up and go from house to house getting candy. They dress up so that Nightmare Moon can't find them and identify them as ponies.

...Not that Nightmare Moon is a thing any more. Our princess was cured but still.

The youngesters then leave their candy at an altar to Nightmare Moon, for her to eat THAT instead of them.

Since Luna came back, it's turned more into a celebration for her, which I way prefer.

[He brightens. ] I sure hope so!

So it's like Halloween, but they give sacrificial offering of candy to protect themselves from Nightmare Moon who is just a normal Princess now?

[He just tries to imagine, getting all those offerings of candy from people out of tradition... What a lucky Princess]

Ha- now that's a tradition I could get behind.

[He beams happily, it's the BEST holiday.]

We bob for apples and stuff like that, too. It's just a really fun night and Princess Luna loves it.

Well how could she not like it? If everyone's giving her offerings of candy! I'd be thrilled if I had that!

[That's where his priorities lie]

Honestly? I think she'd just glad she's loved and appreciated. They was a time when she wasn't. Which led to the whole Nightmare Moon thing in the beginning.

[Sorry, Allen, it's actually kind of a sad thing. ]

...Ah. Right.

[Well, that sure got depressing fast. His smile fades for something a bit more tactful.]

That couldn't have been easy...it's good that things improved for her.

No, but she's in a good place now. She knows she's loved and respected, so it's all okay.
