[ she looks squarely into the network's broadcast. firm, electronic eye contact with any and all watching. ]

[ afterwards, she can be found fiddling with the comms panels on the starstruck. she isn't particularly certain of what she's doing, but it's better than being idle. and she might as well try and put her bloody awful augment to work. over the next two hours, some ships may experience odd and incomplete burst messages as she tests frequencies, filters, and broadcast capabilities. ]

A wager. [ and, just in case: ] I'm talking about gambling, rookie. A craps game or some poker, perhaps.

Oh, poker! I used to pick up a few games with smugglers at spaceports. Can't keep any of the winnings though. [ also it's straight up cheating, what with his space magic powers ]

Which one are you thinking, planetary or space?

And here I thought the true choice would have been between Texas Hold'em and -- well, never the matter. What's the difference between planetary and space?

Space, you bet planets and sometimes even stars. Planetary, eh. Depends on which system you're in. Each one has a different rule, which makes things hard to keep track of. Half the time, people just make it up. Most of the time, actually.

-- How bloody full of yourself have you got to be to bet a whole planet? [ seriously. that sounds...reckless. ]

[ He shrugs. ] It's how people play the game. Why, what do you bet with Texas Hold'em?
