[This sudden turn of events has left Atoli stunned. She's to be frowning near the hospital decks. Her mind is boggled for various reasons.]

Um, can anyone hear me? My name's Atoli. I don't know what's happening. I woke up and I suddenly found myself here I--[The poor girl seems to be having trouble putting her thoughts into words. With her expression and tone it's clear that she's not taking this very well at all.]

I can't seem to remember anything from before I arrived. I think I was supposed to meet up with my friend. I got lost afterwards. [She definitely emailed Haseo and told him to go meet up with her at the Forbidden Grounds, so why is she here? It's puzzling.]

Would someone please help me? I'd hate to be a burden, but I need to know what's going on. This isn't "The World" is it?

[Atoli tilts her head slightly at Kirito's comment. What does he mean by that? ]

[He could be referring to something else entirely, she just wants to be sure.]

Twice, yeah. Myself, and someone from my world who was here a few months ago.

Are you able to switch?

No, doing something like that is impossible for me. [Her head shakes slightly at that.]

That surprising! So you can switch between them? Which class are you?

Class?

[Hmm. His MMOs don't have chosen classes like a lot of the older games do, just weapon and skill selection. In ALO, races are chosen at the start, but his choice there had been strictly aesthetic rather than class preference. If he were to define it...]

Warrior DPS, usually.

Fighting on the front lines sounds difficult. [DPS stay close to the enemy...most of the time. Atoli would know how hard it is to fight. Kirito must be someone brave.]

Um, for me I'm a harvest cleric. It's a healer type class. I can still heal here outside of the game. Do your abilities work?

...What, are you serious? You can use your skills!?

[His reaction is probably enough to tell her that his don't.]

Of course I can. I'm serious! Um, I hope it comes in handy for you some day.

Call me when you get hurt and I'll try to come over.

[She just wants to help Kirito even though he's probably on some other ship.]

[Why are healers always so nice. Seriously, he wants Asuna here so he can introduce them or something. Healer chums. It would be great.]

I'll keep that in mind, thanks. Though to be honest, there isn't a lot of fighting on the fleet unless you go looking for it.

[Yes, Atoli should meet Asuna. Healer bff's yeah!!!]

Oh, that's good to hear. It's always better to stay out of trouble when you can.

I won't go looking for fights! There's no need to worry. [She smiles confidently. ]

[He wishes he could have that confidence, but so often fights end up looking for him. It's weird not to have that problem as much here.]

[Man, she... is really peppy for someone who's just been abducted. It's enviable.]

No argument here. Though I'm always torn between wanting some of the people from home to show up or feeling glad that they haven't yet.

[This isn't the first time she's been stuck in some strange place. Atoli's used to it by now. She won't get anywhere by complaining so she might as well make the most of it.]

I see what you mean. It must be hard to be apart from the people you cherish so much.

[He just smiles faintly and doesn't respond directly to her words. She'll understand soon enough. An unfortunate truth when it comes to this place.]

Anyway, about your game- was it called "The World", or was that the name of the map area?

It's the name of the game.

Millions of people subscribe to it including myself. I spent most of my time socializing there. What do you like to do in an mmorpg?

[Atoli takes things slow and steadily. Might seem kind of boring to others, but that's how she rolls.]

[It's a little embarrassing how he used to spend so much time playing solo in an MMO. Thankfully he's learned better habits, now.]

Mostly the same, to be honest. Almost all of my friends live a long distance from me, so games are the only way I can see them outside of school. We do plenty of leveling and dungeon runs, but sometimes we just get together for homework.

You do your homework inside of the game? I suppose anything can be possible inside of an mmorpg.

Time just flies when you're having fun with your friends. [She nods a little to Kirito's words.]

It's less fun when you're writing essays or twelve pages of code, but the company definitely helps.

[Plus in the game, they have Yui to help out. AI children are way better than web search engines for gathering info.]

Most of our team goes to the same school, though, so there's some similarities with the work. We can tackle it as a group.

Work is always hard.

Sometimes you don't know the answer and you end up getting stuck. What do you write code for? Is it a program?

[This is so nerdy. Atoli love playing video games but she's never ventured into the world of coding.]

[WELL. Since she asked, he'll just go full-blown nerd on her.]

Sort of, yeah! I'm studying mechatronics, and what I'm best at so far is creating the code that links electronic signal to mechanical devices. Before I got here I was building a program that would allow an AI to control a mobile camera.

Mecha.....mechatronics? [Whoa big words here. Kirito sounds so passionate about his studies so she smiles a little despite her confusion.]

Amazing! You're really smart, did you know that?

[She understands how much work he puts into this.]

Hah, not really. It's just a passion of mine.

[He's super average about everything else.]

It's great to have a goal in life. [Sure beats being lost and not knowing what to do.]

Have you been working on your project here too?

[From the things she's heard about this place it doesn't seem like there's too much to do around here. It wouldn't be impossible for Kirito to work on mechatronics even on a ship.]

I wish. Computer access is pretty limited, and the AI isn't here, either. I wouldn't even know where to start.

But I've got other projects to keep me busy, so it's not that bad.
