[Congratulations, Drift Fleet. You are being treated to a little tune of Finrod's own composition. Because some days, you just feel like announcing things in verse, apparently.]

When the night is at its longest, we gather ‘round the fire
Drink is shared and tales are told as the flames grow ev’r higher.

The custom comes to naught without a sun to mark the days,
But merry voices hold shadows of many kinds at bay.

Our journey is no garden path; we do not walk with ease.
Any reason for song and drink is one that must be seized.

[Okay, okay. He'll put down the harp and address the camera a bit more serious. Only a bit, though- there's nothing truly serious about any of this.]

In other words, my friends, Turuhalmë, an annual celebration of my people is, I think, here. It’s impossible to truly know, since I have no notion of how my calendar lines up with any other used here. Regardless, I think the occasion worth marking. According to tradition, we should gather around a fire, tell tales, and make merry long into the night.

However, as I am not precisely enthused about the idea of making a return to the planet and our ships are not equipped with hearths, I will settle for the making merry and telling of tales. You are all welcome to join me; I am on the Bishop for the moment, though if the group should grow large, we may have to relocate.

[ This sure looks like the Bishop's therapist office, but someone has decked the couch out with pillows and a blanket. Propped up among this embarrassment of warmth is a rather flushed-looking handsome fellow, clearly suffering from some sort of ailment.

Haruka made it through Hearthswarming before coming down with this....whatever it is...but it seems she won't be quite so lucky for this festivity. ] I'm partied out right now.

Of course. [This is the most sympathetic expression in the world. Finrod was recently sick himself and it gave him a whole new perspective on these things. He doesn't know how mortals stand it, frankly.]

And if there is anything I might bring you, you need only ask.

Compassionate guy. [ Especially for someone he's never met before. Haruka should probably get out and about on the ship more, but for some reason she always seems to end up either in the cockpit or the therapist's office. Perhaps she has a lot of issues that need talking out. Long, detailed discussions. With Dr. Michiru.

She looks like she wants to say something else, but it's interrupted by a coughing fit. She brings up an arm to cough into her elbow, suffering. But aesthetically. ]

[A wry little smile] Well, I was recently taken ill myself. It has given me an entirely new perspective on illness. [Namely, a first-hand one. And he really didn't like it.]

Had you been down on the planet often? [ Haruka still sounds stuffed-up, and finds it hard to care about much. But she has a bad habit of blaming Atroma for everything, so. ]

Not often, but often enough it seems. [Because the mun thought it was hilarious he was terrible luck lately.]

Good for us. [ Haruka tries a wry smile. It tickles. She sneezes. ]

I'm guessing this fixes itself. [ Haruka doesn't really want to ask for a cure; that's kind of imposing on a guy she just met. But she's also sick of sickness. ]

Perhaps. [Heck if he knows. He was rather too whiny and miserable to wait that long.] The natives of the planet have some sort of cure.

They'll trade for it? [ Since she's not sure how she's doing in the currency department right now. ]

[He nods.] They seem quite accustomed to this sort of problem. [A beat]

Which raises a number of questions, really.

[ That it does. Haruka doubts they'll be around here long enough for some of them to become relevant, but. ] Sounds like some might concern you most.

[Questions that concern him most? A few, yes.] I admit, I should very much like to know how it is possible for one of my race to have come down with an illness at all, but I suspect that even if I had the answer, I would not understand it.

[SCIENCE! while great, is very difficult for a guy straight out of a medieval fantasy canon.]

[ Aaand filing that information away. Haruka smirks wearily while trying not to sneeze. ] Nobody's perfect.
