[ han solo, on board the huntress, has had a tumultuous week. nothing in comparison to his friends (though, really, if his long-lost family showed up here, han probably wouldn't be able to recognize them, let alone marginally care), but tiring all the same. he's been collecting information from passerby and explored arslae quite a bit. now, he's ready to talk on the network.

of sorts, anyway.

han is sitting at his pilot station in the huntress, and there are some missing panels and things being rearranged and han setting up his chair just the way he likes it. there's no chewbacca here (annoyingly, and, if han admits it, depressingly), so han is doing the work on his own. with some interruptions.

after a moment or two of thinking, han decides to speak.

(if he were smart, he would've figured out what he wanted to say beforehand, but that shit isn't for corellian smugglers.) ]

So I guess I've been assigned to the Huntress, and I've met most of you on board so far... but greetings, salutations, whatever. I'm Han Solo, your new pilot. I'd apologize for the mess, but you'll thank me later.

[ probably. if he doesn't blow up the ship first. ]

I've got a few questions about this Fleet -- one, how many people around here have actually set foot off planet before coming here? Two, any of you know how to fly a ship before getting here? Second part -- who here is a pilot? And three, if any of you have seen a Wookiee by the name of Chewbacca -- he's tall, furry, growls a lot, might've threatened to kill you once or twice -- steer him in my direction. He's harmless. Mostly.

[ han seems to be ready to leave it there, but he glances toward his station before resettling his focus on the camera with a grin, eyes bright. to those who know han solo, esteemed general of the rebellion and captain of the millennium falcon, you can almost be guaranteed what is about to come out of his mouth is no good. ]

So who wants to test out how fast these buckets of bolts can go?

Just wondering whether or not the ships are different from bridge to bridge -- was there a learning curve when you got here, time for your augment to catch up with what you didn't know?

I guess? I mean, I just got to the bridge and PING, I knew what I needed to know about flying.

But before here I was in the soul eating castle so I guess that probably has something to do with it. Having a chip in your head is small change next to having your soul devoured.

Trust me, there is. Paradisa used to torture us. Like...every month, without fail. At least this place lets us live a little, without worrying what horrible thing the next month is gonna bring.

Living a little in a cage is still living in a cage, kid.

[ there is a slight pause, though. ]

But I can do without the torture.

[ seriously. never going back. ]

I guess. I'd still take this place over Paradisa any day.

[That gets a chuckle. ]

I#d be worried if you thought different, buddy.

han sighs, though, and runs a hand through his hair, frowning. ]

I'd take home, personally, but beggars can't be choosers.

I think it was supposed to be ironic.

[Cheese...doesn't really have a home. He loves Equestria, loves his life there, but he hasn't got a HOME there. He never has. Home is an alien concept.]

I guess? I mean, I've enjoyed meeting all these new species and learning all about other worlds.

...Kinda miss seeing other ponies, though.

I can do all of that at home, in the comfort of my own ship.

So maybe your solution is stealing one of these ships and getting the hell out of dodge.

Nope. They found star maps, they're in the library here on the Bishop...or has it all been moved to the Iskaulit now? I forget. ANYhoo, there are star maps, but nopony recognises where they are.

'course not, that'd be way too easy.

[ han still wants to look at them though. ]

It's worth a shot, right? I mean, somepony eventually has to know where the heck they are.

It says something that I have no idea where the hell we are.

[ and han lives in these kinds of backwater outposts, man. ]

Who knows where in the hell they've dropped us -- we won't know unless we get decent charts, but we wouldn't even know if they were accurate with no standard to go by.

Huh huh. That's...pretty much the deal with places like this. "Surprise, you're in a new world now, no escaping for you!"

Nothing's impossible, remember.

[ han refuses to accept he's just stuck here forever, BUT he's also realistic, and he knows escape probably isn't coming anytime soon. ]

...Heh. You got me there. Guess there;s some residual Paradisa bitterness still here.
