The Atroma Shopping Network

[Vash may not catch it, but The Atroma Shopping Network has been selling a few things from his home planet. Namely a few wanted posters with his face on it. Wow, those are a lot of zeros. The broadcaster will smile and talk about how this is an authentic wanted poster from the world of Gunsmoke, or No-man's Land, as some like to call it. See the details of the sand damaged edges? This is just a must have for collectors of western and outlaw memorabilia. As Vash the Stampede may be one of the most dangerous outlaws in the entire galaxy wanted dead or alive for sixty billion double dollars in his planet's currency!

While it's rumored that he's been involved in over 300 incidents of damage and destruction, some of his most famous crimes include: The murder of Count Lebnant Vasques. Causing class G weapon damage. Putting a crater into the planet's fifth moon. And of course the destruction of the major city of July overnight which lead to the death of over a million people. Call in now as supplies are limited!

Anyone is welcome to see this broadcast, but Vash himself has unfortunately missed it. As after he wasn't able to call in to buy a donut maker set he gave up on watching it.]

Planet Side

[Part of the reason Vash missed the broadcast? He's spending just about his WHOLE time planet side. At first just standing memorized by the snow. He's never seen or experienced anything like it before. Hardly even SEEN photos of it before. It's much colder than he though it would be.

Eventually it doesn't take too long before Vash rushes in and starts playing with the snow like a child. At first just grabbing armfuls and tossing it into the air. Kicking it around, flopping around into it, and just laughing at how wet it is. At some point in his play he'll realize the snow can also be packed. Which is bad news for people.

Where you just trying to take a quiet walk? Well TOO BAD. Because Vash has gotten some of the planet's kids in on his play. There are snow forts and the snowballs are flying. So that snowball that just smacked into your back? It totally wasn't thrown by the idiot in a bright red coat, hat, and gloves screaming: OH CRAP and ducking behind a snow fort. Nope. Not at all.

Or a bit of a slower paced snow fun? As Vash will have also discovered the joys of snowman building, although he's not very good at it yet, give him a hand?

And in the evenings he'll eventually drag himself back inside a bar to shiver, drip, and warm up with a strong drink of whiskey or hot chocolate..... spiked with vodka. Join him by the fire?]

[he's still got that skepticism hanging on him, but he's at least catching on that Vash seems pretty harmless.

also, the way he puts it seems like a trade for a debt, and that makes sense.

so, after another minute of hesitating, the kid finally nods.]

Great! I found a restaurant not too far away yesterday! They have some decent food and great warm drinks! Shall we go there? Unless you know a place you like better.

[oh... this is one of those awkward times when he can only answer one thing at a time... and can't exactly elaborate on it.

so, after hesitating a moment... he nods? either in agreement to Vash's first or second question.]

[While Vash acts like he knows which that nod was for, he actually has no clue. He just assumes that if he guesses wrong Coil will let him know.] Great! Then let's head this way! I find a hot drink is the best way to warm up! It warms your hands as you hold the cup and the drink warms you up from the inside!

[Vash keeps on yapping the whole way to the restaurant unless Coil does something to shut him up.]

[Coil, being mute, is pretty powerless to all that babbling. but, at least he isn't forced to try and find a way to communicate during it.

and really, he's kind of looking forward to something warm in his stomach by this point, so... he'll patiently nod along as he follows.]

[Vash gets them a table and asks for some menus. He gets himself comfortable with legs kicked out as he takes off some of his outside garments.] Order anything you'd like. I've been saving up so I should be able to afford anything they have on the menu.

[Coil doesn't get comfy. if anything, he looks even more uncomfortable and a little on edge.

he hates this part. every single thing on the menu is hard for him to eat, so it's a game of which will cause him the least difficulty.

he doesn't look like a kid looking over a menu for something yummy. he looks like he's trying to solve a problem.]

[Vash watches, blinking, unable to fully understand Coil's problem.] Of course, if you don't like anything on this menu we can go somewhere else too. [He can only guess at why this guy still isn't smiling even with the offer of a free meal in front of him.]

[he shakes his head!

...and finally turns the menu so Vash can see, and points at the hot chocolate.]

[Vash was starting to get the idea that his new 'friend' couldn't talk and he takes teh menu being turned to him with stride.] One hot chocolate? Sure thing!

I'm going to go order. I'll be right back. [Vash stands and heads up to order the drinks. Returning with two steaming mugs of hot chocolate.] Here you are! Hope you like it! And have started to warm up a bit.

[Vash takes his seat again, nursing his own drink.] I'll try to be more careful where I'm throwing snowballs next time.

[Only... probably not.]

[he doesn't give much of a reaction, except forming a quick, halfhearted sign with his hands before he takes the mug. maybe it's a gesture of thanks.

and he doesn't answer or really glance in Vash's direction in response to what he's saying. maybe he'll just ignore him through their whole little meal.

...but then he reaches for one of the glasses that come with every place-setting, expecting it to be full of water... but it's not. it's empty, and he huffs a sigh off annoyance. ugh.]

[Vash has a pretty good idea what that action was for.] Oh! Would you like some water?

[he nods!

...it's funny how important having water always on hand is when you don't have a tongue.]

No problem! Vash is on the case! [He nearly jumps off from his seat and narrowly avoids bashing his long legs on the table.] Hey, waiter! Can we get some water?

[And if Coil survives the embarrassment of being seen with Vash he'll shortly return with a pitcher of water.] Here we are! Nice cold water!

[and ugh, he does barely survive the embarrassment. he really does give a glance around the cafe to make sure he doesn't recognize anyone seated there.

only once Vash is safely settled at the table again and not flailing in any way does Coil attempt to sip either of his drinks.

...and, really, it's not an easy task. when the hot chocolate is finally cool enough to drink, he takes a tiny sip of it, and immediately follows it with a sip of water. ...and he has to tip his chin up just a little when he swallows. and also dab a napkin to his mouth to make sure he's not drooling anything.

it's a bit of an ordeal.]

[Either Vash doesn't notice the ordeal or is ignoring it. As he doesn't comment on it at all. Instead chattering away as usual.]

You know, you're pretty great at snowball fights! Was that your first time in one?

[...he both appreciates the fact that Vash is ignoring things that other people might comment on, as well as carrying most of the conversation himself. it makes being weird and mute a lot easier.

and he only has to think about it for a minute before he nods. he is a rookie to the world of snowball fights.]

Yeah? Me too! Well, today wasn't my first, but this planet was the first time I experienced one! You're a natural! It took me ages to get the hang of throwing the ball! For awhile it would just stick to my gloves! HAHAHAHAHA!
