Who: Hera and YOU!
Broadcast: Video; fleetwide.
Action: The Marsiva hospitality deck.
When: January 4
[ Well, this is clearly a ship, in space, but it's not the Ghost, or any other ship she might be familiar with. It also clearly isn't an Imperial Star Destroyer - if Hera had been captured by the Empire, she'd be really obviously in a prison cell, or worse. Plus, there are no stormtroopers in sight. So, probably not Empire, but probably not the rebellion, either.
Other than that, it could be just about anyone holding her. And she needs to get more information on the situation. A number of possibilities present themselves - she could keep her head down, sneak around, and see if she can eavesdrop it. Or she could play the wide-eyed innocent, and use this handy-dandy video link she seems to be equipped with (seriously, who gives a captive a comm link anyway?)
The comm could be some kind of trick or trap, but Hera trusts her own resourcefulness, so eventually, she flips it on. ]
Uh, hello? I think there might've been a misunderstanding of some sort, here. I've lost track of my ship - were we supposed to go through some kind of inspection?

[ Hera Syndulla: Totally Innocent Freighter Pilot. ]

What kind of freighter? -- and I haven't seen anything called the Ghost since I've been down here.
[ Can it be? Is there another competent pilot around these parts? ]
I fly a modified YT-1300 freighter. The Millennium Falcon.
[ modified for. um. less than legal purposes. but hey, she did her civic duty. ]
What're you hauling that you need a modified vessel for?
I do most of my work in the Outer Rim. Can't be too careful - pirates and whatnot.
Can't be too careful with pirates. Scum of the galaxy -- but I'd think the Empire was the bigger problem.
[ testing the waters. testing. ]
It can certainly be an obstacle. A hindrance more than a help, most of the time. But a lot of my mods to the Ghost are on the stealth system.
The feed's locked. No one else can see this. But if you don't believe me, that's up to you.
[ moving on ]
I'm General Han Solo with the Alliance, helping out with the rebellion against the Empire. The Empire didn't kidnap you, and this Fleet's not owned by them. The Emperor's not around. Neither's Darth Vader, or any of his idiots. We're in an isolated galaxy.
[ far, far away. ]
Besides, this guy wouldn't work for the Empire. She knows his type. ]
Huh. Pleasure to meet you, General Solo. I'm Hera Syndulla. [ She pauses a beat, and then, as if the words are still something she's getting used to: ] Phoenix Squadron Leader.
leia would know better than he would. still, a bit of honesty goes a long way, and han offers a slight salute. (it is the world's laziest salute, but a salute all the same. ]
Nice to meet you.
[ and it's the truth. ]
How far along are you? What's the last thing you remember -- you don't have to tell me your mission details if you don't want to, but everybody's from different times here, if you haven't figured that out already. Best to figure it out now before we confuse each other.
[ the war is clearly not over yet for her, but... ]
[ She smiles faintly. ]
And yeah, I'd definitely noticed the different times thing.
They're good ships. I prefer my own, but.
[ pause ]
-- and the last I checked, the Empire collapsed in on itself. War's done.
[ with a slight salute ]
You can pack up and go home.
Breathe, Hera. Breathe. ]
We did it? We're - going to do it? Just like that?
[ or easy. ]
But we win, in the end. Shockingly.
[ han, the eternal pessimist, really is surprised. ]
I was ready to celebrate before I got dragged here.
So, if this guy - who knows about the rebellion, certainly, is telling the truth, then - ]
If that's the case, then - I need to get back more than ever.
[ But she's smiling a little as she says it. ]
[ he wants to get luke, leia, and himself home yesterday, but alas. that's not in the cards for captain solo this time around. ]
Enjoy the vacation while it lasts, though. I'm betting this is a lot slower paced than whatever you're dealing with.
[ Seriously, sitting still? Doing nothing? Why? ]
[ point one: do nothing.
do literally nothing. ]
[ It's just that her list is mostly, "tear down the Empire, brick by brick". ]
[ with a grin.
she should meet leia, han thinks idly. they'd probably get along famously. ]
Maybe. Though, most of my friendships start out with a little more excitement. Sometimes explosions.
[ though han is only recently mastering the art of making legitimate friends, tbh ]
I'm guessing you're good at running, though.
When I have to, sure.
