[ Well, this is clearly a ship, in space, but it's not the Ghost, or any other ship she might be familiar with. It also clearly isn't an Imperial Star Destroyer - if Hera had been captured by the Empire, she'd be really obviously in a prison cell, or worse. Plus, there are no stormtroopers in sight. So, probably not Empire, but probably not the rebellion, either.

Other than that, it could be just about anyone holding her. And she needs to get more information on the situation. A number of possibilities present themselves - she could keep her head down, sneak around, and see if she can eavesdrop it. Or she could play the wide-eyed innocent, and use this handy-dandy video link she seems to be equipped with (seriously, who gives a captive a comm link anyway?)

The comm could be some kind of trick or trap, but Hera trusts her own resourcefulness, so eventually, she flips it on. ]

Uh, hello? I think there might've been a misunderstanding of some sort, here. I've lost track of my ship - were we supposed to go through some kind of inspection?

Still, even if you didn't get the pilot augment, I bet you could probably figure it out pretty fast.

[It's not like going from airplanes circa WWII and jumping straight to spaceships after all.]

Well, yeah, I could. I can fly just about anything.

So you've flown more than just your freighter?

[ Hera laughs faintly. ]

Lots of things, I guess. [ Yes, she's being deliberately vague. SORRY. ]

[He doesn't take a hint, unfortunately.]

Well, there was the time I flew an old transport ship that hadn't flown properly in probably twenty years. That was, um, well. It was dangerous, but it was all I had available at the time.

It must have been really important that you got where you needed if you took that thing even knowing the risks!

[He knows she's still likely holding out a little, so. He'll keep trying to wheedle for more. He can't help it.]

[ She smiles faintly. ]

I'm sorry - it's kind of a long story and a lot of it could get me and people close to me in a lot of trouble if the wrong person found out about it.

[Bummer. Joseph at least has the decency to try not to look too disappointed.]

I guess there's a bigger chance of the wrong people finding out for you than it is for most people, huh?

[Having space travel already wherever the heck she's from and everything.]

I don't know. It's just - I only got here a few weeks ago, so I'm still not sure if everyone here is trustworthy or not. Or who might be watching. [ She points vaguely in the direction of the ceiling of the shuttle bay, where, presumably, cameras are always trained on them. ]

You know the audience sometimes writes in.

[ Hera scowls at that, and shakes her head. ]

This whole thing is ridiculous.

Most parts of it kinda are, but not all of it.

[This is probably the most serious he's sounded since he started talking to her. While he tends to have a tongue-in-cheek playfulness about him, it melts away in favor of some maturity he probably shouldn't have yet.]

[ Unlike him, she's not really one to pry, though she'll sort of leave that open in case he does want to elaborate. ]

I mean, I guess I'm kinda biased since I've got friends and family from back home here, but that part's not so bad to me. It's been a while since we've all been in the same place.
