[ james watches in vague amusement, completely and utterly enjoying himself. ]

No way, I've got this!

[ She pauses a moment, before whirling around, snapping another picture as she does.

There was no way for her to know the snitch would be there, but it was. Being able to manipulate time does come in- ]

[ -no way the thing still managed to avoid being in the shot!

A small amount of blood drips from Max's nose. Probably... probably done here. ]

Okay, okay, I give up. It's all yours.

I'll just capture your moment of triumph instead.

[ james tosses max a grin, and he's about to do exactly that -- but then he notices the blood, and he frowns, putting his full focus on her. ]

You alright?

[timelapsed]

[ Max wipes the blood off with the back of her shirt sleeve. ] Yeah... Yeah, I'm fine.

[ Deflection is in order! ] Now how about you show me your sweet moves? I have to at least get one good picture out of this mess.

[ james doesn't look entirely convinced, still frowning at max... but he lets it go for now, turning to the snitch, which is flitting about over his head. ]

This one's a bit old, so it's a little slower than normal.

[ james lets his eyes follow the snitch around while speaking, predicting its movements. ]

I'm not a Seeker on my team, but playing with this thing helps me with my reflexes, and lets me --

[ and his hand snatches out, closing neatly over the snitch. ]

Okay, I have to admit, I'm impressed. You did a better job in like two seconds than I did in however long I was at it.

I've had more practice.

[ admittedly, and modestly, though james will never turn down free attention. ]

I've been playing with them since I could walk -- you've just got to trap it in a room with you so there's less room for it to move, and then you can practice grabbing at it. Just don't crunch the wings.

[ and james holds out the snitch, careful to hold onto it. ]

And don't accidentally leave a window open, right? [ She examines that snitch. Its wings do look kinda delicate, which doesn't make sense for something you're supposed to catch while playing some weird wizard rugby. ] I think I've had enough practice to last me the rest of my natural life, though.

[ She'll snag another picture, though, focusing on that snitch. ]

Well, if you do, I expect I'll have to go catch it.

[ he holds still as max takes her picture, and he allows the snitch to flutter above his palm for a moment. ]

Maybe being the Seeker isn't for you, then.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the only thing I'm good at seeking is trouble.
