Let it snow, Let it snow...
[didn't one of these broadcasts happen only a few days ago? and it's still not occurring on a Friday as it should, but at least it's closer to the mark this time.
a little later than it normally airs, the usual jingle rings out from the speakers, announcing this week's Shuffle. and as the Marsiva finally draws close to leaving the current planet's orbit, the static heralding the broadcast is worst than ever. Diamond is several words into her script before it becomes clear enough to understand.]
--and this week we have another whole slew of new faces! Five of them, to be exact. Isn't that exciting? It's almost as if the Fleet is getting ready for something important, isn't it?
[no background laughter, no sound effects. just Diamond's own little anticipatory hum of glee.]
We've lost a few faces this week, but their places have quickly been filled with new blood. ...I'm sure you all won't mind the switch!
And I do hope that everyone is getting along with their new crewmates, because there are a lot of them. A few of our ships have even hit max capacity! So, you'll have to start migrating to empty ships or upgrade your current one with more room, if it's getting too crowded for you.
...Speaking of getting crowded-- if any of you are thinking of stowing living creatures away on your ship, be sure to refer to the 'pet ownership' section of your contract. A few small, important changes have recently been made, so please make yourself acquainted with them to avoid any unfortunate fines.
And a final note to captains: please make sure that your newest crewmembers know to jettison their sweaters before-- [and returning static eats up the remainder of the message. ...and of course, no contract or any mention of pets can be found anywhere on the network. oops!]

Pretty mittens. Look, toss those down here, I can activate the controls from the panels -
