Who: Riona
Broadcast: The entire network
Action: On the SS Blue Fish
When: After the weekly shuffle
Action on the Blue Fish
[You've got an armored lady on board, Blue Fishies. Unarmed, of course, but that makes her all the warier as she glances around uneasily. Too much of this is foreign to her. The fact that there's something in her head telling her what some of it is makes it worse. Like the taint in her telling her when darkspawn were near, but much more potent and a lot more invasive. So having the armor on may seem unnecessary, but it's all she has and it makes her feel a little safer. Much like a child clinging to a stuffed animal. A metal one that could break a jaw.
She moves over to the food set out, scrunching her nose at it. Maker, none of it looks right. Not that Fereldan food was the be all and end all of fine cuisine, but at least there were recognizable ingredients in it. This was... not food.
Her upbringing obliged her to at least take some and try it. Though she was relatively sure that her lessons didn't account for being kidnapped and offered not-food to her...]

[So after settling in and having had time to take stock, Riona finally feels comfortable in attempting this messaging thing. With any luck, someone else from Ferelden - or Thedas even - got brought here as well and could perhaps explain a bit more what was going on.
Or, honestly, just conversing with someone else from her world would be a relief at this rate.]
Assuming this isn't the worst drunken stupor or dream in history - and I'm still not entirely certain it isn't - I understand I am to be here for some time. And that I am to work on this ship [The word is said with a hint of skepticism. Ships float on water, not fly.] in that interim.
Maker's breath.
[She heaves a sigh.] Okay, fine. Well, no, it's not fine but it seems I have little recourse in that regard right now. I mean, did you really have to take my sword and shield? I don't use it willy-nilly.
Anyway, is there... truly no way to send word back to our homes? Not even a message? [Her next words are considered carefully.] My absence will be noted very quickly, and likely would cause a panic amongst certain parties. I only wish to avoid that. [And stop her husband from launching a huge search campaign for her.] Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly. [She forces a polite smile before she fumbles with the device, finally getting it to shut off after a moment's struggle.]

video;
[Most take the prolonged death sentence thing too seriously, that's the problem.]
A bard...? You mean Leliana? She was a good friend to me during our travels. So she traveled with this Amell as well. Huh.
[She shakes her head.]
So it's like, everyone comes from a different... version of Thedas, basically? Same problematic hunk of rock, different events?
video;
[He nods.]
Yeah, most of us. Sometimes events line up, sometimes they don't.
video;
[She frowns at his description.]
She wasn't always like that.
[Ugh ugh ugh. The more she learns about this place and the way it works, the more she wants to tear her hair out. But she settles for just running her hand through it.]
...Maker's nug-fucking breath. This is ridiculous.
video;
[He watches her nervousness quietly. He's helping in his own way. She'll learn soon enough that his humor is his saving grace.]
It's not all bad. There's plenty of beer, and the food isn't awful if you know where to look. There's no Circles or drunk templars, no Blights or muddy adventures or convoluted politics. It's what you make of it.
video;
[Normally she's a tad more composed than this, but it's a lot to take in one day, even by her standards.]
I do like the sound of no Blights and no Circles. Guess it's a bit of a vacation from Thedas.
[She snorts.]
Thank you for telling me about all... this. I didn't mean to appear ungrateful. I'm just trying to get my head around it.
video;
[He lets out a long-suffering sigh.]
Don't worry about it. I was the same way when I first woke up here. That was... over a year ago now, so I guess I've gone native.
It never gets any less weird.
Re: video;
Her mouth drops at his admission.]
Over a year? Chantry's bells, I can't even imagine. Does everyone stay for so long?
video;
[He adjusts his coat.]
We're told that if we 'win', we get to go home at the end of the 'cycle'. Whenever that is. Load of shit if you ask me.
video;
How do you even win at something like this? It doesn't seem like we're in a competition. [As far as she can tell.] I'm inclined to agree with you. An easy lie to give people a false sense of hope and to go along with Atroma's will. Ugh.
video;
[A joke that kinda falls flat, but that's ok.]
video;
Ah, yes. The revered goals of any lord or lady worth their salt. Well, those and power. Isn't that also supposedly part of the Orlesian "great game"? You know, besides the back-stabbing bits.
video;
[He likes her. It's a shame she's had to endure what he knows of the Warden's tale. It takes a particular kind of humor to remain resilient through all of that.]
video;
Because unlike Orlais, the rest of Thedas has some taste.
[Spoken like a true Fereldan.]
