I've never heard of that. We have something similar, though. [She points at his heart.] Souls. Human souls are strong and persistent even after someone's passed on. If someone uses them, they can have great power. But monster souls? They just... vanish along with the body.
I'd like to think they become part of the world, too. But I don't... really know. That's why I try not to let any of my people die.
[She leans back a bit.]
I like your thing better.

[ He believes it completely, which is pretty clear. ]

I wish my job let me wear a bathrobe all the time.

You must be hiding your secrets in your beard!! That's the only explanation. Obviously.
[Beards give men mystical powers. This is a fact. Especially since she read it in a manga once.]

I've only known a few with big ol' beards, and they all looked like they were pushovers but could take anyone in a fight.
[She's never suplexed a human before. Maybe it's time to start.]

[ He's not in the mood for a fight. ]

[She grins fangishly.]
But we could spar sometime to keep ourselves from getting rusty. I'll even let you choose your own weapon.

That would be excellent, actually. I certainly wouldn't want to get rusty.

Great!! I think there's enough room in the cargo hold if we're careful, but we can always train planetside too. If there's a planet, anyway.
[She hasn't been down there in a couple days. Too many new people. Too many attempts at spaghetti.]
