[ Something's not right. Awareness comes swiftly, though he takes a moment to get his bearings before opening his eyes. One thing Sanzo is acutely aware of is the lack of pain. Unless he's managed to pass out for a solid week, there was no way-- not after him.

Ukoku Sanzo. God, they're so vastly out-classed by that crow bastard it's laughable.

Managing to look around, he doesn't recognize anything. The surroundings are too industrial. He's up immediately, reaching for his gun. ]

..Dammit.

[ Wherever he is, he's been disarmed. He listens attentively for a moment, though he doesn't hear any kind of activity. Joke's on them, he doesn't need his gun to deal damage. After he's had a look around, he ends up in the hospitality bay, face-to-face with an endless sea of stars. His brow furrows, mouth tipping into a deep scowl.

What the hell is this? It's not nothingness, so it's not as if his existence has actually been erased. And there's no way in hell that this is the heaven. Not that he'd want anything the gods had to give him, anyway. He'd rather rot in the ground and get some goddamn rest. ]

[ After he's positive this isn't some sort of trick, Sanzo wanders back to the cot he'd woken up on, noticing the communicator. With a bit of fiddling, he manages to turn it on and make a broadcast. ]

Whoever the hell decided this was a good idea, you made a big goddamn mistake.

A lineage doesn't necessarily imply blood. I assume it was a master-pupil line?

For some, yes. Some inherit the name, some take it for themselves, and others have it thrust upon them.

It's only happened once. He may have the title, but he wasn't chosen by the gods. He killed the previous holder. When no one saw fit to challenge him, he got to keep it.

[ He may seem put off by having to explain this, but that's just his neutral tone. ]

He just happens to have the power over death and nothingness.

That's a dangerous power for anyone to have, no matter how esteemed and pure they might be.

Supernatural creatures- most of which consider humans a tasty snack. They can be characterized by pointed ears, claws like steel, sharp teeth. Most have incredible strength; some can shapeshift.
