[She nods. This was good; having a co-pilot wasn't a bad idea, especially after her bout with illness a little while ago. They'd been lucky enough to be stationary then but if they'd had to go anywhere?]

Guess I'll have to show you my kill-switch. I know only a pilot with a pilot's augment should be able to access the controls, but I've learned from my own world you can't be too careful.

Do you have any vehicle handling experience?

[Oh he'd piloted quinjets, sky-cycles, and other flying-things besides. A ship was essentially an arrow, right? Only more high-tech.]

Some. I think if you gave me a day or two in the chair I could figure it out.

[He makes a vague gesture with his hands. Casual, confident, but it might also read as foolish and arrogant.

[His hearing aids, which he shows her without offering them to her. The purpose of them might not have been obvious to anyone who wasn't familiar with the technology, but they were shaped like ears, and Clint held one finger to his ear to help with the visual description.]

[She looks at it, doesn't immediately get it without his gesturing, and finally nods when she does.]

What's wrong with them? [She should see about getting Tyrion or Tobio to look them over, if they're acting up.]

[He wasn't quite prepared for her to speak that time, but he catches - "wrong with them" - and infers a question from her body language. He's been doing a lot of inferring lately.

Answering her question is easy enough - he doesn't even need to speak. Instead he turns one on, and while the crackling, whining sound that it makes isn't necessarily audible from several feet away, he only has to lift the device a little ways toward her before she should start to be able to hear it. Feedback. Like a badly tuned radio, but one stuck between a scream-o rock-band and a string quartet.]

I think it's all the signals between the ships. Something like that, I dunno.

Take it to engineering; see if Tyrion or Tobio can do anything with it. [Other than that, she's not sure what to suggest.]
