[ he leans back, watching her. ]

So, um, Eichen House. I told you a little about the Nogitsune, right? The- thing I had in me.

A little...

[evildetector]

I was dangerous, you know? [ he's fidgeting a little, suddenly uncomfortable with his own memories here. ] My mom died of a degenerative disease, and I thought the same thing was happening to me. So I made my dad lock me up.

[ he takes a breath. ]

I just really didn't want to hurt anybody.

[ she looks a little taken aback— not because of the decision he made, but that he was put in that situation ]

So... it's a detainment facility?

[evildetector]

It's, uh. A facility for the mentally unwell. It's supposed to be a place where people can get help, in theory.

[ he's studying his own hands, flexing his fingers uneasily. ]

...But it comes up short on what it promises, huh.

[evildetector]

It was kind of a nightmare. Um. Literally, I guess.

[ another breath. ]

It's complicated, but - yeah. It's also kind of- [ to himself: ] How do I even explain this? [ he shakes his head. ] So, you know how Scott's a werewolf, right.

[takeabow]

Yeah.

Isaac is too?

[evildetector]

Yeah. And Scott's girlfriend Kira - she's a kitsune. Lydia's a banshee. There's a lot more than just werewolves running around at home.

[takeabow]

There was a kitsune persona at Aather... But I don't know the other one. The one that Lydia is.

[evildetector]

She's... really good at finding dead things.

[ he's still looking at his hands, trapped for now in his own head. ]

But that place, Eichen House - it was kind of a prison for supernatural creatures that weren't willing to play by the rules.

[ reaches for his hand again ]

And she thought she was in there when she first showed up?

[evildetector]

[ he actually starts again, just because adrenaline is high and he seems to keep forgetting that he has an anchor here. ]

She was there. I don't know why, but...

[ the start makes her hesitate and pull back slightly, giving him the option of whether to touch ]

Maybe she'll tell you. But she's not there now. So that's a good thing.

[evildetector]

[ the moment she pulls back he's leaning forward, trying to catch her hand with his again. ]

Yeah. Yeah, it's just -

[ he finally takes a big breath and settles on: ]

[ he's gonna get a big strong hug from her, with her burying her face in his shoulder ]

[ he's still for just a moment, before he wraps his arms around her and returns it, pressing his face into the hair at the side of her head. ]

I'm glad she's here.

[ keeps him in the hug ]

Yeah, me too. Maybe this'll be a good thing for her, like it is for me.

I just wish someone knew what was going on at home.
