[ You kind reek contrition and sap. He picks up the blender to toss it into the trash, then gets a cloth to wipe down the tables. ]

Do you happen to know any of them personally?

[honorbends]

[ oh. well. that's comforting. ]

Not... really -- it's a long story.

[ zuko watches for a moment or two before continuing. ]

I know them, but they don't really know me.

[ pause ]

He's probably the one that broke the blender.

[ sasuke is an annoyance obi-wan sry :( ]

Well, we'll just have to do without for now.

Care to tell the story? I wonder if it involves more destruction of appliances.

[honorbends]

I don't think most of it is really mine to tell.

[ sasuke would probably not enjoy it, but. ]

I was in a world before this one. I met him there. He doesn't have any memory of it.

{ which sucks, but. you know. things seem to be about the same as usual. sasuke is an asshole and zuko gets blamed for it. whatever. ]

He's probably just going to ignore all of you now that he's broken the blender.

Not to worry. I have ample experience with moody teenagers.

[ Finishes cleaning the counters. ] Being forgotten is always difficult, but now you have the ability to forge new memories. Memories that guide him and you.

[ there's a pause at that, and zuko stares at him for a moment. it's not so much the advice, but the way it's said, and there's a sudden clenching in his chest because zuko is fairly certain iroh has told zuko something similar at least sixty-seven times since they began their journey to find zuko's true path. ]

[honorbends]

[ -- but that is stupid, and zuko lets out a quick breath before crossing his arms. ]

He's the definition of moody teenager.

[ unlike zuko. obviously. ]

What do you do that gives you experience with them?

[ He places the cloth down to look at Zuko properly. It's only good manners to keep eye contact. ]

I am a Jedi Master. As such, it is a Jedi's prerogative to teach and pass along what they know.

[ that clenching feeling in his chest is getting worse which he should probably recognize as, like, a bad thing, but nah. ]

A Jedi is someone in touch with the Force - essentially the life flow of the universe, connecting all of us together. We function as peace-keepers, delegates and sometimes, warriors, to serve those in need of us.

[ He rubs his beard lightly. ] I hope that makes some amount of sense. I'll understand if it doesn't. I'm not used to explaining it in such a manner.

The Avatar is someone who can control all four of the elements and who is supposed to bring about great peace, and to keep our world in balance. But there's only one.

[beardstrokes]

I'm afraid while we can move things around, controlling the elements is a little beyond us.

[ There's only one. His easy-going expression flickers for a bit. ]

There are many Jedi. Not so great in number to rival a nation but enough. It is a well-renowned Order.

[honorbends]

He gestures to the cloth that he left on the counter. Then, holding his hand out, it moves switftly from there to his hand. ]

I suppose I could move water as well, but that requires a lot more effort on my part.

[ zuko causes a ball of fire to suspend between his palms ]

[ Wow, that's impressive. He peers closer at it. ]

[ it's difficult to explain to someone who doesn't intuitively get it, but -- ]

I transfer my energy from my body into fire.

It's called firebending.

[beardstrokes]

Impressive, to use life energy in such a way. Almost modifying breath into flame. Which makes sense, considering what fire needs to breathe.

[honorbends]

It has a lot to do with breathing.

[ firebending, anyway, and while zuko can breathe fire, he doesn't want to commit to that level of showing off. and so he squishes the fire between his palms into a puff of smoke. ]

Meditation, and control.

How often do you meditate?

[ He wants to see if the answer surprises him. ]

I try to every day, but my ship makes it difficult.

[ zuko loves his friends but they bother him a lot ]

[beardstrokes]

[ He would say something about true meditation being able to shake off any distractions, but he realizes it's not his place. ]

I imagine that's a problem for any ship.

[honorbends]

[ yeah well he's a teenager with ptsd obi-wan he's still learning to find his inner calm ok ]

I guess -- I have an extra room on the Blue Fish, so I can use it for quiet.

Some of the people on my ship are people from my universe, though, so they leave me alone.

We just got some new people, though, so. I decided to leave for a little bit.
