It's really not that big of a deal. Sometime before we arrived here, Greed's essence was merged into my body. I suppose I should have mentioned something back on the planet.

[But you know... little things like that. How can he be expected to remember that kind of stuff?]

Holy... [He shakes his head as it sinks in.]

Yeah, that might have been useful info! Greed said you weren't related, so... so I thought the way he looked was just a big-time coincidence...

Well, we're not related. So that is true. But he's listening right now, yes.

[And by listening, he means laughing. Greed is currently having an uproarious laugh at Kurt's expense. It's evidence by the slightly twitching vein on Ling's right temple. He's trying to keep Greed from just jumping in and making it worse.]

Dude, wow... Sorry. I- I guess that makes sense.

So, all this time, you were just... not in control?

I would risk burning up my soul if I tried to maintain control at all times. It was better to just let him do as he pleased.

[Now though... well, Greed doesn't put up much of a fight anyway. Benefit of having a kind of understanding with one another.]

[He gives a shrug and goes on with a part-joking tone.]

Well it's far more than just the two of us. Space isn't necessarily an issue.

Quite a number more. But only Greed and I have any control. The rest have long since lost any sense of humanity in them.

[This he says solemnly and lowered eyes. Whatever else he may be, he cannot bring himself to speak ill of those innocents turned into the suffering that surrounds him day and night.]

[Kurt's face, if possible, just looks paler as he hears that. That's... kind of an extremely scary concept, and Kurt has no idea how to respond for that. Aside from a shaky, frightened whisper-]

[Ling just clasps a hand on his shoulder and smiles again.]

As I said before, you shouldn't worry so much. [I'm handling this.]

[He reluctantly puts on a slight grin.]

[Ling pulls Kurt alongside him as he starts to walk.]
