True. But I will never let that fear control me.
nerdeology: (sorey stop)

You're very confident about that.

[It's admirable, at least.]

A power like that could destroy someone without enough willpower to counter its effect on them.

It is willpower that a Jedi needs. Fear, anger, hate . . . those are emotions we do not hold onto. We let them go into the Force. For those feelings do not serve anyone but the Dark.
nerdeology: (what? I didn't say anything)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-01-21 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
The Dark?

[That sounds both ominous and way too on-the-nose.]
beardstrokes: (Than giving it)

The Force is made up of two sides, the Light and the Dark. I serve the Light as a Jedi, but we can be corrupted to serve the Dark.

[ The terminology may change, the idea remains the same. ]
nerdeology: (thankfully your gracious seraphim)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-01-21 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
I see... two sides of the same coin. Polar opposites, but ultimately not far from one another. It's much the same with seraphim and hellions, in my world.

[The similarities are actually a bit startling, though he knows he ought not be surprised. It's logical that any world would have manifestations of light and dark.]

Your home seems very interesting.

[ He folds his arms subconsciously. ]

It is a little similar to this. We travel to many planets, helping out others in need. A Jedi's duty is to serve.
nerdeology: (there was this sad legend)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-01-21 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
With it being so new, it's hard to imagine living this way for long. I've never left the continent I was raised on, nevermind the world itself... how do you get used to this?

[He still gets shivers when he so much as looks out the window. So much empty space, when he just wants to get his feet back on solid ground. Go stand in a lake or something. There's not much water in space.]

For me, space travel is the norm. While I did grow up in a temple, once I started leaving with my Master, space travel became second nature. I've been to many worlds now - aquatic worlds where entire cities reside underwater or worlds full of magma and fire.

[ He's always enjoyed that part of being a Jedi. While there were worlds he wished he could pass, he's found that the experience is always enriching. ]
nerdeology: (but you're not alone)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-01-21 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds amazing. To be honest, it's been my dream for many years to explore the world... to be able to visit many worlds is as exciting as it is daunting. The universe is much bigger than I could have imagined.
beardstrokes: (A failure in planning)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-01-21 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I've only ever explored my galaxy, I'm afraid. And that itself, is quite large.
nerdeology: (you're born of mistakes)

I'm not sure I can properly fathom the distance just yet. Everything looks so small from the window as he pass, but I know it must all be enormous.
beardstrokes: (He who seeks to control fate)

[ Murmurs. ] Limitless

[ Then in a more normal, conversational tone. ] But what you see will be what you fathom.
nerdeology: (it's hard to find a more upbeat one)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-01-22 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Even for an immortal, that sort of comment is hard to imagine. To travel for years, centuries, millenniums, and still have more to see. The potential for unique worlds and the life within them truly is limitless.]

What do you mean by that?
beardstrokes: (The most dangerous beast)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-01-22 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
One vision can have many interpretations.

I'm saying that, while you might not see everything, what you do see can offer up a great variety.
nerdeology: (no i won't tell you why)

[personal profile] nerdeology 2016-01-22 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
I see...

[Makes sense. And it's an interesting way to look at things. Even when your perspective is limited, what's new is still new, whether it's old hat for someone else or not.

It helps. Start out small.]

Well, if nothing else, I've gotten very good at observing the world. I expect to see plenty.
beardstrokes: (Is through vengeance)

[personal profile] beardstrokes 2016-01-22 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Then I'm sure the Force will oblige.
