/takes the huntress out back and buries it (jan mingle pt. II)

Who: Anyone on the SS Huntress! Crew and visitors.
Broadcast: N/A
Action: SS Huntress
When: More of January! We got three new crew mates and it will be messy.

IT'S ANOTHER MINGLE FOR OUR EVER-EXPANDING SHIP.

Also, we need an update on how well Koala is doing at pinball.

God, help this ship.

[The more he talks, the more she thinks he might have been on the level. That whole spiel just then, especially. She takes a breath, trying to calm down. If he is sharing a body (???) then yeah she's being unfair. But nonetheless.

She needs to think of Koala having to live with what happens here.]

I'm not gonna apologise for not knowing your circumstances before coming in here. [Good, that was nice and even and free of temper.] But fair enough. Do you think Greed intended for her to be like this?

[She's not being sassy on that last question; it's genuine.]

[Well that's enough for him. It wasn't really an apology he was looking for anyway.]

No. For whatever else he might be, Greed is not senselessly cruel. He saw it as a way to focus her on something more befitting a child.

[Which when it comes down to it, neither Greed or Ling can exactly call themselves experts on what's appropriate for children. One of them was never a child and the other was just given life in adult form.]

I get that. I do. It's just... backfired.

[She runs a hand over her face tiredly. She'd heard enough about Greed to know he had personality clashes rampant over the ship, but he wasn't trying to do badly by Koala. And maybe she's being unfair in other ways, because the kid is seriously fucked up and who knows what might set her off. But this one thing, Greed can probably undo.]

If Greed could assure her he's not about to kill her over a game, that would help a lot.

[You can tell her I don't take orders from her and I'll handle the kid the way I want to handle it. Why the hell would I kill a kid over a game?

Ling only smiles faintly.]

I'm certain Greed will do whatever is needed to rectify the situation.

[That sounds like a diplomatic brush-off answer, and for a moment Nami's eyes narrow. But she just avoided a fight and she doesn't need to start one now. Time will tell.]

Thanks. I'll leave you to your... whatever it is you were doing.

Meditation. You might try it sometime. It's a fine way of calming your nerves and detaching yourself from those things that make you angry.

[Because clearly she has a lot of those things.]

I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

[casually punching you in her imagination 'k. See you around, Ling.]
