Who: Nelkeila "Trashbag" Tarid
Broadcast: Video, fleetwide
Action: Any ship
When: Noonish
[while all passengers of the Drift Fleet should have the augment-given knowledge needed to pilot the SR shuttles without help, some people need their hands held a little bit to actually get started. so, now that someone has finally 'taught' him to fly, (thanks for leaving that legacy, Shawn,) Nel can be found zooming around through space, buzzing the various ships of the fleet.
he just wants to say hi, okay. a couple times, he even gets close enough that he can practically wave through the windows at the faces inside. hello, friends!
also, he may never have gotten the fact that drivers are supposed to stay off the phone while catapulting through space. with something blaring in the background, a video feed pops on from inside an active shuttle-- seemingly from Nel's lap, until he jostles the device around and props it on the dashboard.]
--Hey! Does anyone race these things? They go way faster than I thought they would!
[...are those proximity alarms in the background, or just part of the music? who knows!]

Of course, that is all they needed. A race. Let us race ships through this never ending space. As if they were horses.]
I do not think those are meant for racing. [And since Robb can be quite the grumpy old man inside the body of a teenager...] And, please, try to be less noisy.
[At this course he wonders if the other is able to understand him.]
[video]
[yeah, about that being able to understand him thing. give him a second while he fiddles with his communicator, turning the volume on the music down-- of course taking his eyes off of the 'road' in the process.]
What did you say?
[video]
I do not think those are meant for racing...ser.
[video]
Oh, uh... [his smile falters, a little.] You don't need to call me that. Just 'Nel' is fine.
[video]
Very well. Nel it is. [A soft sigh follows.] Do you think it is wise to use these ships for racing? [Racing was done on horses and ships...well...
It could be very interesting but also very dangerous. For a moment Robb finds himself torn. Gods, sometimes he does sound like an old man...]
[video]
Well, yeah! They're perfect for it. And there's all this room, and it gets so boring on the ships... why not?
[video]
Do you know the workings of these ships?
[It would be quite cool to fly a small ship but whenever he finds himself in the cockpit he finds it daunting.]

[grinning like he has any idea who this is, he turns his music down to a manageable level.]
Say that again?

...Well, I mean. I guess I'm piloting something right now. But it's just a shuttle. I don't think that's the same thing, really.
I'm in Comms, normally.

IM SORRY im finally back
video;
Hey! What do you think you're doing? Do you want to kill us?
video;
[oh, that's a very smart thing to do. Nel, on the other hand, just looks away from the 'road' so he can mess with his communicator. after turning it down enough to actually hear--]
...What do I, what? I didn't catch that.
video;
I highly suggest you stop flying that thing, before you get someone killed - especially yourself.
video;
What? ...But why? I'm not doing anything wrong...
video;
[ Stop that right now, young man! ]
video;
And there's, like. The alarm things, to tell you when you get too close to stuff.
[but mooooom...]

and then the proximity alarm beeps. which is weird. and the only warning he has before something rockets past the window with a startling roar.
...which has him staring out the window in surprise until the video pops up, and it's maybe the last face he expected to see.]
Nel? [he's--maybe just surprised enough to not think of the whole "shouldn't even talk to him" thing.] Are you in the ship that just rocketed past me at like, a million space-miles an hour?
video;
[totally distracted from the 'road' by the face that suddenly appears on his screen. the whole surprise of it kind of overrides everything that he should or should not be doing-- as far as both piloting and social taboos go.]
Was that your ship?
video;
Fuck yeah it was! Unless there's some other lunatic speeding around out there--
[and he gets up out of his chair to go look out the giant windows, as if he could actually recognize one shuttle from another around here...]
video;
Ha! No, it's just me! I actually thought it would be busier out here, you know?
video;
[hey, would you look at that. he's still holding onto his communicator, even if the video feed is now pointing at his knee as he leans into the window.]
Please don't crash into the ship, Nel.
[he sounds like he's smiling pretty hard, even if he means it.]
video;
[or, whatever his definition of the word is.]
And hey, I think your ship is bigger than mine. [--as he's now racing up along the side of it.]
