[it is a rare day indeed that Coil sends out a message with his identification attached to it, but he figures it's probably hard to convince someone to fight with you when they don't know who's asking. and he takes time to write the thing up properly, like putting an ad in the paper.]

Looking for sparring partner-- hand-to-hand or melee weapons. Experienced combatants only. Iskaulit Gym.

[and he just tosses the communicator off to the side for a bit, after that. he'll return to check his messages after he's beaten the shit out of a sandbag for a while.

and whether or not they've caught his message, anyone can find him haunting the gym--either moping around like he doesn't know why he's there, or whirling a quarterstaff around and clobbering a sandbag with single-minded focus. just a combat-oriented teenager in a bad mood.]

[he halts up between strikes, blinking out of his hyper-focus to shoot a look over his shoulder at the voice.

and he doesn't answer, exactly, but he does seem a tiny bit sheepish as he lowers his weapon and catches his breath.

he really was beating the hell out of it, wasn't he? apparently, he hadn't noticed how into it he'd been getting, until it was pointed out.]

I mean, whatever makes you feel better. I'm not stopping you.

[ he holds up his hands, but there might be a little bit if judgement in it. Isaac knows about anger problems, okay, he's probably been here done that before. ]

I just got your message, but looks like you've got your sparring partner.

[he glances back at the punching bag, but just... shrugs a little. it loses the appeal when not looking at it through so much of a haze of anger--especially when there is some other possible option nearby.

he forms the signs for 'you fight?,' which he's hoping the gestures of are self-explanatory enough to get the meaning across.]

[ Isaac probably shouldn't be engaging in any sparring, considering his own supernatural abilities. but he's getting antsy on the ship, the limited space to move and exist starting to irritate him a little. so keeping his mind and body busy is a must right now. ]

Been a while, but this should be fun.

[ and although he looks like an awkward, gangly teenage boy he grins in a way that says he's likely seen some bloodshed in his time. and maybe didn't wholly dislike it. ]

[Coil would be pretty hypocritical to judge the abilities of another teenager just by looks... but he totally is. so, that eager grin on the other guy is promising, at least.

he points at the staff, and then gives a questioning wobble between thumbs-up and thumbs-down. weapons or no weapons?]

[ he gives the staff a moment's thought and shakes his head. Isaac's not really good with any weapon other than his claws, and he doesn't want to great the guy out after all. ]
