Who: Coil Lenn
Broadcast: Text (and not anonymous, for once)
Action: Iskaulit, in the gym
When: Morning

[it is a rare day indeed that Coil sends out a message with his identification attached to it, but he figures it's probably hard to convince someone to fight with you when they don't know who's asking. and he takes time to write the thing up properly, like putting an ad in the paper.]

Looking for sparring partner-- hand-to-hand or melee weapons. Experienced combatants only. Iskaulit Gym.

[and he just tosses the communicator off to the side for a bit, after that. he'll return to check his messages after he's beaten the shit out of a sandbag for a while.

and whether or not they've caught his message, anyone can find him haunting the gym--either moping around like he doesn't know why he's there, or whirling a quarterstaff around and clobbering a sandbag with single-minded focus. just a combat-oriented teenager in a bad mood.]

(ooc: and for anyone who isn't really into tagging fight threads, but still wants to spar with him, we can handwave or gloss over some things.)

[If she had any idea that she looked that way when a fight is impending, friendly or otherwise, she'd probably control it better. But even before the begin, her pulse kicks up, adrenaline courses, gives her a thrill she only gets when in battle.

Offense is not usually where she begins, but she doesn't mind. She closes the distance smooth as a dancer. As straightforward as she may be in talking, she fights with deception, tossing a feint to his head, and lower his guard elsewhere. If he falls for it, she'll follow through solidly to the first available open target.

[It's quite exactly like a dance. She's keenly aware of him, where he holds his weight, how he's balanced, and when he moves, she moves to counter. She recognizes training. And not just when she misreads, and gets clipped in the jaw.

But she too, is conditioned to fight for her life, so there's no moment of coddling. She uses the momentum of being hit to move her, out of range, takes a only a second to assess she's fine. It'll bruise maybe, but nothing broken.

She breaks out in a wide grin, and waves him to her. Offense is all his.

[It's a good tactic. Keeps her from gaining ground, and he lands a few shots. Nothing devastating, but it did what is meant to, keep her defending.

But she's also adaptable, and when he goes for her ribs again, she lets him in on purpose. He connects, soliciting a grunt, but her arm comes down to pin his to her side, so she can pull him in closer, sweep get leg behind his, and try to take him to the floor. Preferably beneath her, if she can manage it.

[He doesn't make things easy, which is good. Challenging. Being rolled to the bottom isn't the end. She can work with it. It's good practice actually. People often forget, in the heart of the moment, that being down on your back in a first is not actually a damning position. She too knows those tender spots of the ribs, and jabbing her fingers up into them didn't require a ton of force to be painful.]

[She does not roll. She lifts herself into a back bend and kicks over, in one smooth motion, she's on her feet as well. She had be going very straightforward with him up to now, but might as well keep it interesting for him, right? And she's rather comfortable with more acrobatic combat. So she keeps the momentum going and launches a quick side kick ((with helpful video!)) at him, just to see how he'd handle it really.]
