[ When she wakes up, the first thing that's obvious to her is that this is not her house; it's nothing like it, and that's more than enough to have her drop her hands to her hip - where, again, there's nothing familiar. The next stop is around her neck and it's obvious that she finds some comfort there, her fingers sliding around a ring before she breathes out and moves to sit up. At least some things are familiar, and she recognises a video feed when she sees it, lifting her free hand to push her hair out of her eyes. ]

Well, this isn't the Drabwurld, is it.

[ She sounds remarkably put out about it, shifting to stand and adjust her weight, her fingers finally dropping away from the ring around her neck. It's only then that she really looks into her feed, wondering if it worked just like the lockets did - and, at the same time, wondering if she ought to be afraid. Considering the number of worlds and things she saw and went through in the Drabwurld, however, she thinks that it'll take a little more than this to put her on edge, even without her weapons. ]

I don't suppose anyone here has heard of Nimh Gleanne? Leathann? ... Anything like that?

[ There's a kind of awkward hopefulness in her voice as she tries to smile, the scar on her cheek shifting with her lips. ]

Well, that's a relief.

[ At least there's no risk of dying on a daily basis, she hopes. ]

That's good. I mean, I could fight if I had to but I really don't like to if I can avoid it.

Can't say I blame you. I've seen my fair share of fighting, but it's more the verbal kind.

[Reality TV at its finest, if he really stops to think about it.]

So... since you don't have to fight here, what do you think you wanna do? [Until they find a way home, he means.]

Sometimes those can be just as bad as the physical, depending on who you're fighting.

[ Arguments hurt, especially with family.

Still, his question makes her hesitates and she pauses before she breathes out. ]

I don't know. What do people do here?

A little bit of everything. We inherited a ship called the Iskaulit over the summer, and we've been adding to it over time. If you want to drink, we've got a couple of bars. If you're into religion and spiritual stuff, we've got that too. There's a large community garden, a gym, and a pretty decent library.

[He tilts his head a little]

That's not counting your job on your ship, or what happens whenever we visit a planet. The weeks in-between can get rough, but... there's a lot of people here, and we're all crammed together, so. It doesn't get that boring.

A library?

[ Trust that to be the first thing that grabs her attention. She sits up a little, leaning forward and pushing hair from her face, unashamed of her scarring and doing nothing more than leaning forward, interest aroused all over again. ]

That sounds amazing, I'd love to have a look as soon as I can. Is it on a specific ship or do I have to go to one in particular - can we move between the ships? I imagine we must be able to, but I wonder if it blocks magical transportation as well, that sort of thing...

[ Um. She pauses, cheeks going a little red. ]

I was babbling, I'm sorry.

[He shakes his head, ducking a little to hide the huge smile on his face. While Stefan does notice the scarring, he's also not rude enough to ask. Not now.]

It's fine. I didn't mind at all. ["I thought it was kind of cute."] But um, if you can wait until you get off the Marsiva, you'll find it on the Iskaulit. We don't have a lot of books, but we're working on it.

You'll use shuttles to move between ships, and you get the hang of it pretty fast. I don't have magic, so I've never tried teleportation - but you know, I could ask Remus and James about it later.

[He might as well, considering he's on the SS ~~Wizards~~ Paisley.]

[ Not now, but Hermione knows it'll come eventually. She doesn't mind - she's used to people asking questions. ]

Thank you. [ She shakes her head, cheeks still a little flushed. ] I'll have to make sure I stop by as soon as I've been moved around. I don't think I could stay away even if I tried.

[ She does perk up, though, her eyes widening a little. ]

You know Remus and James?

I can't blame you. In the meantime, though, there're a few e-books on the network. Hang on, let me send it to you.

[He'll send her the link for the media acquired during an earlier event. Most are movies and music, but a few books're tucked in for good measure.]

And yeah, actually - they're part of my crew. I'm lab support on the SS Paisley. James is my pilot, and Remus my other comms officer. I haven't known them long, but they're good people.

Oh! Oh -

[ And she's quick to skim through them as fast as she can. ]

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, of course, how marvellous, a dissertation, mythology... This is incredible!

[ And she really can't hide her delight at all. ]

I'm glad they're settling in - they're amazing, both of them. When I heard their names I was a bit worried, but... They're doing okay?

[His smile only grows more genuine. For a second, he was a bit worried that she'd get bored while she was on the Marsiva...]

More than okay. No one ever fully adapts to the fleet, but they've helped me out a lot these past few months. [Seriously, like he's confessing a secret,] Don't really get the love for pumpkin juice, though.

Were you guys from the same world?

It's an acquired taste - I wasn't really keen on it when I first tried it, and that was... Oh, ten years ago?

[ Now she feels old, really old. Shaking her head, she pauses before she breathes out. ]

I am, yes, same world. Not the same time, though.

Oh. So there's a big discrepancy?

You don't have to specify, if you think it'll break anything. I know what that's like.

[Not quite the same, since he and his ex're roughly from the same time - he's just lived two years in an alternate universe on top of it.]
